Sounds like a plan!Bring some mead and I'll have some beer to share They usually have one or two meads on tap at my local spots but I just haven't gotten around to trying one yet.

Old Overholt rye. I've been looking for a cheap replacement for Pikesville rye, which is no longer made. This has the right price($12.50), but it's a little firey for an 80 proof whiskey. All the right flavors are there, but it's a little wild. I'd pay $5-$10 more for a bottle that spent an extra year in the barrel. I think that would fix it up to be a great value spirit, if not budget. The search continues...
Well, the other cheap rye is Beam, but I imagine you've already tried it.<snip>

Nothing within reason is too pricey, but I really liked Pikesville as a fill in when I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. It was $13.50 a bottle, and imo compared favorably to something like Black Bush. In fact, it tasted kind of like a poor man's Irish. I guess I liked paying almost nothing, and getting something relatively fantastic. If I had known they were ceasing production, I'd have bought a couple cases. That would have lasted the rest of my life.Bulleit? Too pricey?
Actually I haven't. I wonder how it compares with the Old Overholt? They come from the same distillery.Well, the other cheap rye is Beam, but I imagine you've already tried it.
I haven't either, but I mean to. They're both 4 years old, so I don't imagine Beam could be a whole lot better, but it might be a bit more laid back than Old Overholt.Actually I haven't. I wonder how it compares with the Old Overholt? They come from the same distillery.
There used to be some decafs that made my stomach hurt. I guess it's the way they were processed. I now don't use anything "unnatural". If I can't have the proper formula for whatever reason, I do without. In the case of coffee, I'd find a nice herb tea as a substitute. Luckily, coffee doesn't keep me awake, so I can drink it any time.
I need to get back to Portos. My last one was a Cockburn 20 year old Tawny but that was 5 or so years ago.
Bought it on a whim. I like it. Not really sure how it compares to other ports, but it scratches the right itch at $20. I'm enjoying it as well as the $60 bottle of Taylor Fladgate 20yr I bought last year. I might be able to discriminate if I had them side by side, but for something I only get every so often, I'm good with this.
