After Thai and bowling in the burbs, picked up some Allagash White on the way home and enjoying. Really nice refreshing Belgian style wheat beer.

Had a Chimay triple Belgian on Wednesday when on a date. Planning on buying some on the way home from my listing appointment to chill with tonight with the furry fuckers. It was so delicious. Much higher abv too.

Chimay is so good. There is a cool bar near Astor place called the Burp Castle for all you New Yorkers that like beers.

They have a lot of beers on draft and specialize in European beers and they have Trappist beers which is what Chimay is in.

It's a really cool bar because It has these intense medieval paintings, quiet music, and if it gets too loud and there the bartender shushes everyone. So it never gets too loud. Between that and the interior and the beers the ambiance is phenomenal.

Absolutely great date spot and so far it always gets complimented.

So in the spirit of older European beers I'm trying a Belgian farmhouse ale tonight watching the Giants play. Definitely a nice refreshing beer.

What gin do you use? I make mine with beefeater. Need a punchy gin to stand up the the campari and sweet vermouth

I actually like mine with more of a dry vermouth but I've been using the traditional Rosso recently.
I never see the point in using really fancy booze in cocktails. Neat scotch then yeah drink the fancy stuff, but in a mixed drink use good stuff but not the best!
