Meh! Anyone who pretends their product is something that it isnt shouldn't be encouraged.

??

I'm not giving Korbel the edge just because I am American.....believe me, I fully appreciate a Bordeaux or Brunello.

I'm not even saying the Korbel Brut Rose is better because it is $11 versus the $600 Kristal I enjoyed......I am saying flat out it is better.

Also Korbel says "California Champagne", lest anyone believe it is an import.

That's what I was commenting about. I have no issue with what you prefer it's just that champagne doesn't come from California it comes from Champagne in France.
If they have a good product why try and piggy back on something else?

You don't see the Spanish calling cava Catalonian champagne or the Italians calling prosecco Venitian champagne.

Crown & Coke. I'm living on the edge right now. I prefer rum & coke but I'm all out of rum.

I'm going dry... Bought some Heineken for the first time in maybe a year -- twas not worth the $12.50.

Sick of my Johnny. It's rum & coke or nothing from now on. Mostly nothing because I am cheap as shit and hate going to the liquor store these days.

Tonight is an odd one for sure.

COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Porkslap is a new interpretation of the English Pale Ale with a hint of fresh ginger spices (and without their tendency toward cross dressing). It’s balanced, not overly bitter, easy to drink and incredibly refreshing. We brew PorkSlap with two row barley and a little chocolate malt for color. It pours orange and crystal clear with a frothy white head. If your nose is working, you might get a little malty whiff that soon gives way to pure thirst quenching goodness and happy satisfaction. The finish is clean, crisp and dry, and it plays really nice with spicy food like tex-mex, bbq or hot wings. Go ahead. Slap that pig.

My take:

A citrus back end with a lasting hop finish is preceded by a very watery thin lightly mated ale. I don't get any farmhouse in this, it's more of a pilsner. The color is golden with nice lacing. I will say that as it is warming it is getting a bit more malt in the front.

Why can't I post attachments?

Another excellent choice. Also try Corner creek reserve, eagle rare, and Baker's 7 (though a higher price bracket). I stuck with four roses and some beer last night

Thanks, I tried the Harden's at a restaurant the other day. Was delicious.

I've noted the others for future purchases, thanks man!

I now realize I'm probably not a good resource for discriminating bourbons...i like pretty much every one I try, though I'm not a huge fan of rye whiskeys. Then again, that's based on a sample size of 1 (Bulleit). Hell, I even like evan williams and jim beam. Haven't tried Ol grandad yet.

Check out the W. L. Weller 12 Year. Also made by Buffalo Trace like Eagle Rare but with a different mash bill. Usually 5-8 bucks less than ER also.

Thanks for the tip, never heard of it. Blanton's is on my list also, Tallbill recommends it, can't be all bad.

The weather sucks and we have no place to go, so I'm working my way through a bottle of Evan Williams and the girlfriend is working through some Amaretto while we're playing some games.

the Costco branded six times distilled American vodka. $13 for a Handle. that's nuts because it's as good as the brands that are $40 for 70ml. Costco also has a Kirkland branded French vodka for like $21 a handle. haven't tried it yet.

Costco ftw.

Don't know if you're a bourbon fan but the kirkland small batch 107 proof is pretty damn good, especially for its price point.
