I always love my first chocolate stout then get halfway through my second and wish I was drinking something else.

very true--I feel the same way. But, this is the best chocolate stout I have had in a long time. Why? It actually tastes like chocolate. But, too much. maybe 12 or even 8oz is best for this.

That looks good. Details?

Old Viscosity is great--tastes like liquid poison, er, I mean heaven. And I do think you could use it to degrease the pistons in your Chevy in an emergency.

I'm not as well versed in tasting notes as my fiance.. but it was good. Lot of citrus, apple and honey, creamy finish. She's eyeing a bottle of 2004 Dom Perignon or 2004 Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame for next year already.

I've had La Grande Dame earlier this year and thought it was better than the 2003 Dom Perignon. The store I was at was sold out of it though, so I figured I'd try the 2004. The Perrier Jouet was sitting next to an Armind de Brignac, but I can get Ace of Spades for cheaper than what they sell it for at Safeway so I didn't buy it.

We have a bottle of a new champagne every month (monthly anniversary). One of my more recent favorites has been a 2006 Marguet Pere et Fils Grand Cru Brut which was recommended by the wine shop we frequent, K&L. They do a champagne event every year which is a ton of fun. I'm usually along for the ride as my palate isn't nearly as refined as my fiance's.

I was torn between those two myself. Settled on a 2013 Cook's.

K&L has got a lot of good stuff. Was just in there this morning picking up my order of rye before I head back home, took some time to browse the wine.

I brought luggage solely to carry booze back this trip.

Gin is one of those things you can't go cheap on; it just ends up tasting like an air freshener soaked in lighter fluid. If you can't afford a decent London dry gin, just skip it and go rum. Appleton is cheaper than tapwater, but add a little Squirt and lime it feels just like floating in the Caribbean.

New Holland Brewery Dragon's Milk Bourbon Barrel Aged Ale. This is a 2011 vintage, on tap straight from the cask at the brewery tonight.

Strictly heaven in a glass.

well, i got some tea from a chinese catering-supermarket (them places where they got the bulk stuff, mmk?), Oolong style, it was very economical compared to high street prices, and it's phenomenal; i feel i'm drinking tea for the first time.
