I've been drinking the Woodford's neat and I really enjoy it that way. I think I saw Booker's in a sort of wooden box, so I will have to pick that up next time. Seems weird to put water in it, but I will try that. Thanks fellas.

It really is...I had something I can't even remember, I thought it was Elijah Craig reserve, but I don't think it was...Russel's reserve! Single Barrel I think, it was just a skosh (seriously an RCH) below booker's, but it was damn good.

Baker's 7 is also fantastic. I need to find some more exotic bourbons to dethrone booker's, but I haven't found them yet.
Edit: Also try four roses single barrel if you have that available...I thought the single barrel and small batch were reasonably on par, but my dad declared single barrel far and away the better choice.

Just be warned that Bookers is much harsher than something Woodford. Woodford is a damn fine bourbon as well.

How is the Double Oaked? I have not seen that around here, but it looks luscious on their website.

I've always loved bourbon in cocktails, but I am just starting to get into it on its own. The Woodford is the first bottle I've ever actually purchased and I love it, but now I'm getting intrigued by what else is out there.

i love woodford alone, never mixed. for mixing i usually do buffalo trace with a splash of something (i love it in a mint julep), or sometimes i get evan williams single barrell if its on sale.

the double oaked is like licking the inside of the bourbon barrel, i love it.

You'll never beat booker's. Least I haven't. A nice glass of that, maybe a splash of water, it has the best mouth feel ever.

never seen it, i will have to look for it, but here in town the variety isnt that great

Lately Knob Creek Single Barrel has become my go-to bourbon.

It's actually not bad for it's price point, never been a huge fan of Knob Creek myself.

Been favoring Buffalo Trace lines (Blanton's / Eagle Rare) and Four Roses Single Barrel lately myself. Though I've been distracted with the Willet 3 year old Single Barrel Rye which is inexplicably delicious.

along the scotch line, I've enjoyed Balvenie Doublewood often enough; however Friday had some 1978 Glenrothes. My lord, the smoothness and richness was out of this world.

I really could not believe that the older higher priced scotches would be 'worth' it.

very delicious.

Just finished a can of Oskar Blues Gubna IIPA, and am now working on a glass or two of citra pale ale, while thinking about cracking a bottle of No Lable don Jalapeno ale next.

Wait, make that I am now drinking the Jalapeno.

St. Arnold's Christmas Ale.

Probably my 2nd favorite St. Arnold's, among their non premium regular & seasonal offerings. Spicy, smooth, strong, REALLY good!

Picked up a sixer of Shiner Bock last night and cracked one open tonight. I've never had Shiner before (I know, I know) and I definitely dig it.

Also had a Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald which was pretty killer, along with a Unibroue Tres Pistoles. Definitely would recommend both if you like stouts and Belgian strong ales.
