A bottle of some red Italian wine. It tastes like shit, as usual, but I am genuinely wasted. Couldn't let it go to waste -- in other words, I didn't want the POS lying around in my room for a few months, so I decided to just waste the effer. It returned the favor.

I am done drinking... I started a bottle of Dom Perignon about two hours ago. Finished it and am not nearly drunk enough. I should probably not drink champagne so much, but I love it. The texture and the taste are just so great.

Just opened a bottle of Bookers. I've had it for ~10 years, and never tried it. Pretty tasty once I added some water. I tried it straight first, but it was hard to taste through the burning. 126 proof is a bit much. Watered down, it has a nice grassy taste, with a bit of caramel. I think I like it better than the Knob Creek I polished off earlier. I've been digging the bourbon lately, and the price break from good scotch is nice too.

I've been drinking Inniskillen Cabernet-Shiraz. It's a fairly average dry Niagara wine. My grandma gave it to us for Christmas. The bottle had a big crack in it but thankfully it was still okay. I've had about 3 glasses so far since I can't reseal it. I'm in a happy place.

Mmmmm Bookers. That'll warm the belly in the winter.

I had a two brothers hop centric IPA tonight with dinner. Only had one because of having to drive back from the restaurant in a blizzard.

One of the best beers I have ever tasted.

^Hops flavor makes me want to vomit. It's like drinking a bottle of perfume... what am I doing wrong?

If it helps I like stouts, wheat beer, yeast-role flavored beer, and dislike piss-water and water-water (i.e. light beer and PBR).

I think some people just dislike the hops-y flavor and bitterness. Someone once described an IPA to me as if you had bottled up a pine air freshener.

Water all week...damn can't drink one more drop of alcohol...
Saturday night was one hell of a night.

We asked the bartender to craft us a drink involving a crisp bacon slice.
It ended up with this:

2oz of Canadian Club 12 years
0.75oz of Sortilège (maple flavored whisky)
lemon zest
Bacon slice

Drink was good, not amazing but the sweet/salty feel was cool.

I don't get the perfume comparison, its not that strong. A hops heavy beer doesn't sit well with my tastes but it's not nearly so bad as you would have us believe ;p

I completely agree with you. A friend suggested I try a Bell's Two Hearted Ale a while back, said it was the "best beer ever" or something. Like drinking liquefied pine needles.

I too prefer wheat beer and stouts. Something that tastes like a glass full of cold, black coffee, or a glass full of liquid bread. Not everyone is a hop head.

The problem is that there are a lot of really snobby hop heads who don't seem to understand that there are more dimensions to beer outside of the level of hop bitterness.

Just poured a pint of one of my homebrews. This one is an American red ale that sat in the secondary for a few months before I got around to bottling it. Turned out damn fine.

*real* french champagne, it doesn't taste like all the other big brand do (ie cristal, dom perignon, veuve clicquot, etc); get the dry one (Extra Brut)

also, as an added bonus .. its CHEAP.

champagne is just wine with added sugar(google it), there's no real reason why it needs to be so bloody expensive.
