I only work 40 hours a week...

I've been in debt for quite a while, but I thought I was making progress. Turns out my parents hadn't kept track of my phone bills for six months, so they suddenly went back & figured out phone bills from July to January. All this time I thought I'd been getting out of debt, turns out I'd been getting further & further in. So, I'm paying them $1100 a month until I'm out of it. The really disgusting thing is that only $500 or so of that actually goes to my debt. $400 for rent, anywhere from $100 to $250 for my phone bill, plus ISP & random stuff. It'll still take me 'til probably May to get out of debt, I owe around $3,000.

Viper: why do you have such a hefty phone bill? Maybe you should look into different long distance plans, cause I think there are some out there that give you unlimited calling for like $60 a month! My parents pay around $112 a month, including 2 phone lines, 1.5 mbps DSL service, and long distance (we don't talk that much long distance, maybe 200 mins a month). I want them to get sprint ION, which gives you 8 mbps DSL plus a lot more features for $119 a month. Sprint ION

why do you have such a hefty phone bill?

10 pages worth a month of long-distance calls to PA. ~2500 minutes a month. I'm on a 5 cent plan now, so as long as I avoid collect calls (when she's at home & I can't call her back late at night) it should stay under $150 a month from now on.

Viper - Do you have high speed internet? I used to call relatives in and out of state for outrageous amounts of money each month. But since I got cable modem, I use Dialpad or MSN Messenger to call for free. I'm saving quite a bit now on phone bills. No fees for long distance and no charges for in-state toll calls.

No, I wish. I live in the middle of BFE, no broadband for me. Even if I did, though, I'm very much attached to talking on the phone while laying in my king-sized waterbed.

Well I'm Canadian eh so I'm still waiting for all my forms. We don't have to submit our taxes until the end of April. I did a lot of OT list years so I would not be surprised if I owe them money this time. If I do get anything back I will probably use it to pay down my car loan.

I'm going to use some of my federal return to pay what I owe to state. California always gets you. Then I'm going to buy a tach kit for my motorcycle, it comes with a new billet aluminum dash plate, and a tach. And, with what's left over, I might put it towards a new tattoo, or maybe some computer stuff, haven't decided yet.
