Wow this may be my first post (?) in OT after almost 22 years on this forum. Wanted to see what the world looks like outside of P&N.

Anyway I'm waiting for the next gaggle of US Marine Ospreys to fly by while I work on my '99 Taco so I can finally say I got to photograph them in formation while the weather and lighting is good. Damn weatherman being 50% right all the time while still keeping his job pisses me off when I get yelled at by my boss for being .00025" off on a part I machined when the part isn't even cooled down yet. Off to The Garage and DC&V to see what's cooking there.

I'm the crazy, and relatively new frequenter of OT. I am a fan of Mariah Carey, Jojo, Mozart, the Washington Football Team, and the Montreal Canadiens.

I have virulent hatred towards rivals of the NFC East and the Buffalo Bills. Along with hatred of the Boston Bruins, the Washington Capitals, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Ottawa Senators, the Calgary Flames, and the Buffalo Sabres. Players I hate include Tyler Myers, Mark Stone(always called microfracture), and Mika Zibanejad.

And I will repeat again in yet another thread: Mozart and Mariah are peers.

And to bring in a Jim Rome community inspired meme: WAR MARIAH CAREY.

Planning our two week trip to California. Mostly a Norcal trip as Soco doesn't really interest us. Can't wait to see the Sequoias and all the hype San Francisco has to offer. Then the vineyards should be a treat. Can't wait to taste some of the best wines that California has to offer.

I am going to Napa for a week in June. We have several tours/tastings lined up at various wineries. Nickel & Nickel, Rombauer, Opus One and Heitz to name a few.

Very close, I'm looking forward to climbing and deadwooding my pin oak tomorrow. I have a short length of 11mm line, and I want to try that for climbing. I usually use ½" line due to hand feel, but it's tedious dealing with the weight. I want to see if a smaller line has an acceptable experience.

Flying to MDW tomorrow just to check out the largest arcade in the USA then flying home at night.

This place was cool and really neat to see, but the amount of games that are not 100% is really disappointing. I'd say like 90% of the games have issues. Like the monitor is either dim, colors off, etc, just needs work in general, or the controls are busted, or there is no sound. Pretty much every racing game I played, the force feedback was not working which just adds to much to the experience. The pinball room was fun too and most of those machines worked but a couple had minor issues, but they were the older ones I didn't care as much about anyways.

Wow that's some list!

Very few of my old favorites despite the huge number though.... HOWEVER I see they do have Sinistar!

Also Marble-Madness although based on your report about the condition of their machines I seriously doubt the ball-controllers are working right which would pretty much ruin it.

A few things:

1. I have a free, corporate-paid trip to Maui as a reward for being the top consultant in my division last year. It has been cancelled twice due to Covid but it’s happening come hell or high water. Looks like I may have a conference in Orlando in September too.

2. It looks very likely that I’ll get to add several resources to my team this summer due to what appears to be a massive deal we are favored to win.

3. My side business is booming and I just got an early bird deal on my sixth 3D printer - an Elegoo Saturn 2 8K printer. As a geek, I can’t wait to get it! I’ll probably need the capacity because while I expect sales to dip over the summer, I will be developing a lot of holiday product and expect to have huge numbers in the October-December timeframe. The big issue is that I’m putting in 80-100 hours per week between my job and business but I may be in a position to retire and work my business full time very soon.

many things.
Getting my sister's house ready for sale. That is a promise to keep.
Designing an acceptable floor plan for the new home build. It must check all the boxes for both my wife and I.
20 days in the UK in August.
Getting the above floor plan onto paper and with detailed drawings so I can submit for a building permit before the end of the year.
All of the above and in that order more or less. I'll just stop there

Didn't get to use my 11mm line. It was too difficult to isolate, so I used my regular rope. Still a good day.

It would definitely be handy sometimes, but I just do this as a hobby. I know some guys I could call on if I had a serious job come up I couldn't do by myself, but I try to do everything on my own. I start and stop when I want, and it's sometimes with no notice. I just get a bug up my ass to get in a tree, and go do it; a lot of stuff at work's like that. Boss will tell me he has something to do at the last minute, so instead of my real job, I work on trees around the farm. No time constraints, and I'm doing what I want, so the extra work is just extra time doing what I want to do.

I might have an opportunity to help one of the guys I know doing crane work. I'd be on the ground, but it would still be cool doing the work, and seeing how a crane job progresses.

Framing the roof on my current project. It's been an enormous pain in the ass getting it to this point, but I can see a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. Then I get to see if all the stuff purchased six months ago actually fits.
