Planning our two week trip to California. Mostly a Norcal trip as Soco doesn't really interest us. Can't wait to see the Sequoias and all the hype San Francisco has to offer. Then the vineyards should be a treat. Can't wait to taste some of the best wines that California has to offer.
Spend some time in Amdaor County off Hwy 49 tasting wines. A much different experience than Napa or Sonoma. You'll get to visit some cool old mining towns from the Gold Rush era and not deal with pretentious techies/crowds.

A visit to Russian River vineyards North of Sonoma/Santa Rosa is also solid.
Coastal wines from Carmel to Santa Cruz are also super good. I recommend the wine bar that only serves Coastal wines at the end of the Santa Cruz pier - Excellent views. Santa Cruz is a great place to spend a day - fantastic breweries and excellent coastline/beaches. Big Dipper on the Boardwalk is a historical landmark! You can also view the Coastal Redwoods, tallest trees on earth.
Sequoias - Grant Grove area. If you want to spend extended time, check out Kings Canyon at the "End of the Road" . Zumwalt Meadows and Roaring River Falls are short hikes which allows you to soak in the monstrosity that Kings Canyon is. Kings Canyon depth is 8200ft, greater than the Grand Canyon!
