Oh, you mean like No Child Left Behind, a Republican-led initiative?

No shlt. Being held accountable doesn't sit well with Democrats at any level!

You clearly don't have anything constructive to say., troll. Ask Karl Rove and Scott McClellan about accountability these days.

I bet you loved the GOP passed porker Medicare Prescription Drug Bill - touted at $400 billion when passed and now at $750 Billion and rising.

How about the sham of Iraq war at $300 Billion and rising...

The GOP (Bush in particular) refuses to pass a roads bill using the very GAS tax collected for the purpose (needs money for "other" purposes).

Largest deficits in history

Much larger deficit than GDP

Your portiong of the national debt (as a working citizen) is only 70,000 or so. The GOP led crew has only added $25,000 to that in 5 years. One day, the bill will arrive in the mail.

Again, GOP in control, what's the problem? Pandering to old people too much? Pandering to the Religous right? Pandering to business? All of the above? They're in power...tell them to fix it. Are they afraid?

No kidding. Ornery's arguments are scripted for a Democratically-controlled federal government. Now that Bush is in power, he's just spouting stuff that doesn't make sense.

If you're so dissatisfied, Ornery, why doesn't your friend George fix it?

Do you even have a 401k ?

I look at mine once a month and of all my options all but one is losing money and the one that is not is making under 2%.

I know soo many people who have lost 100's of thousands in their 401k. In other words 401k's are not the great answer to all.

How old are you?

not really most opinionated about directly, because I dont think anyone should have an opinion regarding this issue other than the specific person(s) directly involved, but abortion.

i dont think its fair for others to have an opinion regarding another persons life.

The argument against it is based entirely on sheer bullsh|t, and yet we still have "debates" about it.

Renewable energy is something that is very slow in progress but I don't think people are afraid of it, it is that they understand that NOTHING that produces clean energy are as efficient and cost effective as coal and fossil fuels.

So whats the solution then? Technological stagnation and further foreign dependence? I'd like to see the country self sufficient, instead of wasting our money trying to bandaid the problem. Biodiesel could be made efficient if we'd just throw some research at the problem. And what about nuclear? Hydroelectric doesn't seem fully exploited and the main arguement around here against wind turbines (I'm not sh|tting you, this is it) is that "they're ugly". Really, and I suppose all those ski resorts that are clustered on our mountain ridgelines are the epinome of pristine natural beauty!

Limp wrists? Are you some kind of manly man just because you are a Keyboard Warrior who constantly vents his spleen about every social ill blaming it on the Democrats?? You are starting to sound like that one of those conspiracy nutcases.

Jesus! This thread has quickly deteriorated to an active discussion of social and political issues. What a tragedy!

So should it be up to the rest of society to cover the losses of some people who made investments that didn't pan out?

Equal rights are great, as long as it doesn't give certain groups more rights to compensate. (Affirmative Action).

You would lose. But, what am I gonna do, let Hillary have another go at it?

How about the sham of Iraq war at $300 Billion and rising...

John Kerry's Statement on Iraq Before the War
  • ...we will not be blackmailed or extorted by these weapons, and we will not permit the United Nations--an institution we have worked hard to nurture and create--to simply be ignored by this dictator.
Agreed with Kerry then, and am all for finishing the job, and FULLY realize it ain't going to be cheap. Between national security, and national health care, I'd MUCH rather have it spent on security for the present AND future.

Do you even have a 401k ?

I lost more money in my 401K than your cars are probably worth, but I've made several times that as well. It goes up AND down. If you're a pansy, just invest in fixed accounts, which still yield far more than this BS Social Security is going to!

i dont think its fair for others to have an opinion regarding another persons life.

Me neither.

Only the issues like:

Oh yeah, there's another for the list of issues the Dem's support, but most people on this board don't, yet keep on voting for supporters of these programs.

I'm beginning to write off Ornery's posts as simply troll posts. His vitriol is worse than P&N and it's not even logical; it's just blind hate for Democrats and blind butt-love for Republicans.
