Played through Bioshock 2 again last weekend this time going the "bad" route. Felt about the same as the first time around, it's ok, but never gripped me like the first Bioshock. In fact, most of Bioshock 2 feels like the last 1/4 of the original game after the big reveal, sort of meh. It plays better but just doesn't have "it".
Replayed Max Payne 1 this weekend from start to finish. It's been a few years since I've touched either game, but it still holds up pretty well, especially in the sound department. The crappy textures and blocky heads only detract a little from the experience which at its core is still awesome. I had forgotten a lot about it while remembering so much at the same time.
After finishing that I started playing Assassins Creed for the first time since I bought the UBI deal on Steam. I find the real world interludes to be boring and pace breaking; what's the point of getting out of the machine to get to bed so I can wake up and get back into the machine and do a mission? The controls aren't too bad and it can be fun just running around on the rooftops and jacking Templars.
Can't wait for next Tuesday, Dragon Age II and Shogun 2 that'll be more than enough to keep me busy for the next few months
