Nothing really, right now.

Was kind of thinking of rebuilding my gaming desktop, and maybe my HTPC (this one would just be a budget, integrated GPU build anyway, since we don't use it for games). However, both can wait until parts become more readily available and come down in price.

the right piece of real estate, raw land in this case. We have an offer in that expires tonight and it has been a nerve wracking wait.
It only took four months for the seller to sell to us after we met their price. The whole annoying saga is in the FWP thread.

Did you bid under ask by a good amount? Sometimes people just ignore those and don't counter. Usually people are respectful and respond to any reasonable offer. Or they are just being douchey.

no they did get back with a counter, and we countered. I think we have it sewn up.
We built this place 25 years ago and have not moved. It was a very informal closing for the land, so this is a new situation for us. We might as well be first time buyers LOL !

Honestly, I don't want a GPU right now. They're insanely overpriced at the moment.

That whole home generator idea sounds pretty awesome, though. A solar roof with a Tesla Powerwall battery backup would be nice as well, but good luck getting one of those right now.

An electric truck. Every time I go to the dealership and try to take the money out of my wallet, it stops dispensing money. I work for my ISP, I need to call them to troubleshoot the issue, the problem is probably at their end.

Seriously though, I hope EVs come down in price in the next few years as that will probably be my next big ticket item once I pay off my credit line/homestead property and build up my ESP account again. But I can't justify the current prices even if I had the money. The F150 Lightning looks awesome, but it's like 80 grand for the base model once you factor in taxes. I do want a truck though, or at least something that can tow.

My homestead property is like an hour away, so going there with my current gas guzzling truck is not cheap nor is it great for the environment.

There's Sequim Valley @3508 feet, this is adequate. It is the only public runway really close, the rest are residential airparks. There are a bunch of those.
The most notable is Blue Ribbon Airport, yes that Blue Ribbon
Pabst breweries had purchased a large tract for a hunting reserve and later it was split up and the airport community was made.
If you are out by the Dungeness recreation area on a nice day, you might see a biplane with a wing walker on it. There is a wing walking school there

Remodel my entire 111 year old house, starting with the foundation. A major earthquake is overdue here and I'm nervous that the whole house will crumble. I have bought EQ insurance for around 3 years straight, but I'm not confident, and besides, if the house falls, I may perish in the process.
I could hook you up with that, engineer on line, carpenters, plumber, electrician, roofer and painter in house. Fully vaccinated and masked crew. Probably be cheap enough that you'll get to keep one kidney and half your liver.
New foundation, seismic upgrades, plumbing, electrical, windows, a couple bathrooms a kitchen, insulation, HVAC, and new paint. You could pull it off for $450k, assuming a two story house around 1800 sf.

Base model is $40k here. If the feds pass the unrestricted $12k tax credit that's simmering, the price for the base model (called the Pro version) drop's to $28k. It doesn't get much sweeter than that.

Yeah that's the USD price. I was excited when they announced that price originally but did not realize it was USD. On the ford.ca site it's around 70k so add 13% and it's close to 80k. Not sure what other fees are involved, never bought new before. We had incentives at one point but when Ford (ironic) came into power all that was out the window. I think prices will eventually come down though, the big cost factor is the batteries and since there is so much EV production or planned production going on the factories are at full tilt. Then add covid stuff to the mix. I think in another 5-10 years they will end up being the same price or even cheaper than gas versions.

The pro version sells for $40k in the states, unless the price increased in the last month. I wouldn't even consider anything more upscale. If you want luxury buy a BMW.

You guys gonna move out to Sequim? (that's "Squim" to you who aren't in the PNW)
