Let's share and compare!

My new job is pretty darn good:

* Great salary + 15-25% bonus
* 3 weeks PTO & 1 week sick
* 100% match of 401k for first 6%
* 11 holidays & 4 half days (prior to major ones like Xmas)
* Awesome life insurance- $60/mo and 100% covered after $2000 deductible. But employer contibutes free $1350 into my HSA annually. So effective deductible is $650~. And HSA balance carries over year-to-year until I die. Family plan is only $60/mo more.
* Also includes dental & vision at no additional cost.
* Kitchen has tons of free Keurigs pods, teas, hot choco. Also fridge full of soft drinks and juices.
* Free life insurnace (500k)
* Free gym membership reimbursement ($50/mo)
* Tuition reimbursement
* An observation-deck quality view of WTC, Statue of Liberty, and NYC.

Zero vacation days my first year, now .83 days per month.

Sick leave is whatever the CA minimum is now..... 3 days I think.

Six holidays.

0% 401k matching.

I got a gym membership and some hockey tickets, though. And they do pay for classes.

I was a contractor before. While I got no benefits, boy did I make ridiculous moola, even factoring in unpaid vacations & getting my own insurance.

I got nothing as a self employed. My wifes benefits plan at work is ridiculous, its worth well over 140k in cash value.

it's fine by me. i have asthma and have to get advair every 3 months or so and it's $250ish, but every 3 months that is covered. i would put $75/check (pretax so probably like $40 after tax or so) so that i would get about $260/month into my HSA just to max it out at around $3k for the year. then my wife and i would use it to buy glasses too.

i had a kid back in march, and for the 3 months prior, i put $1k/mo into my HSA just to cover everything. since it's all pretax, it was closer to like $550 or so after tax a month that was taken out.

but needless to say, i now have enough in my hsa and will probably have like $1k or $1500 by the end of this year because my company keeps putting $110 in it, and I think i'm still puttign like $100/mo into it (not even sure at this point). but i just bought advair today and it was $25 instead of the normal $250 cause my deductible has been met.

still - consider the amounts i have put into my HSA compared to what insurance for a family on a traditional plan costs. it's still WWWWAAAAYYYYY less. at my previous job, it was like $550/month (pretax) i put into it for my wife and i. not sure how much it would have been for a family.

HSA is good for life. So it may be of interest to keep putting your $$ into it regardless of meeting the deducitble. When we get old & senile, that tax-sheltered money will be good to use.

So are you saying you have a shit-ton built up in your HSA account? Or barely scraping by? I'm kinda thinking along the lines of making it into an investment account instead of for health costs.

I get 2 vacation days a month and 1 sick day a month with 13 paid holidays
10% salary pension plus a 401k match (set dollar amount), but I always try to put more in retirement.
Free gym membership and cheap parking $4.50/month.
Tuition reimbursement (not that I plan on using that)
Great health insurance with premiums half of what my wife's plans were (so we dropped hers)

i definitely don't have a shitload built up in it, but i am contributing enough so that i will have at least $3k/yr put in there so if i hit my deductible it will meet it.

as for child doctor visits, it should be like $20 as long as it's the primary care physician. that is how it was for my normal visits to the doctor prior to hitting the deductible, but i can't say for sure.

pay is based off of area wage determination

120 hrs vacation (80 hrs prior to 5 yrs, 160 hrs after 15 years)

no 401k matching, just $400/yr of company stock lol

no sick time

0.47/hrs of personal paid time/week which adds up to ~24 hrs/yr

ok medical/dental/vision for a single person, but really crappy medical once you add a spouse and/or dependent so I am on my wife's medical plan

paid federal holidays

Usual benefits, some of the more unique ones we have:

-We have zero PTO (zero guaranteed, totally up to your manager). Pretty much just tell my boss I am taking X time off. Hasn't been an issue.
-We have real espresso machines & coffee grinders in every break room. Keurig? Blech.
-Twice monthly beer parties
-free concerts (usually B-list pop stars, but we did have Ariana Grande come for our Halloween party last year).
-movie parties
-Weird celebrity talk things, usually B/C list celebrities come to talk (I don't get these, but some people apparently like them).
-Tech talks, usually internal presentations, but get occasional outside presenters.
