Pros:
-15 days vacation, 5 days personal time, 10 days sick time (can accrue up to 6 months of sick)
-6 company holidays
-Company puts in up to 3.8% match in 401k
-2x salary life insurance
-Company paid STD and LTD
-Great health and dental benefits, low premium ($200 per check for family, $400 deductible)
-Due to my role, I dictate my own schedule and am free to work from home whenever I want, take vacation days and sick days whenever I want with no approval needed
-No oversight, boss and I maybe talk once a month, he lives 4 hours away
-Company pays for me to attend 2+ tech conferences a year plus 1 sales conference, all expenses paid
-Great salary plus commission

Cons:
-Don't feel challenged
-Boring
-Everything gets dumped on me
-Want me to be a jack of all trades while I want to be more specialized
-More corporate politics than my last job

Screw everyone. I work in health care.
I work 3 jobs.
My main job, where I have benefits is closing the dept tomorrow. At least I get a severance package supposedly. PTO is used up by everybody monthly, because we don't get enough hours.
Insurance was decent enough.
It looks like Affordable care act insurance will cost me more than my mortgage.

Care to comment on how it is with a High deductible insurance? I'm contemplating investing more into it since me and my wife are at healthy ages....

My main concern is we are planning to have a kid shortly, and I picture typical doctor visits except instead of $25-35 deductibles having to pay $200.

IIRC, normal checkups for the kids (preventative care) are covered 100% in my high deductible plan. Other things my kids do as a result of dumbassery, like breaking their arm, can suck up my payment to the deductible quickly. So some years my HSA contributions are totally untouched. Other years they're all spent. After a few years in the plan, I've got over $17k in the HSA as of today.

I've read some people pay the deductible with taxed dollars and use the HSA as another retirement account. I don't. I pay health expenses with HSA dollars, and it's still building up pretty nicely.

I'm an intern:
  • Didn't sign up for 401k
  • Still on my parent's insurance
  • I make the most out of all my intern friends who work at other places
  • 3 paid sick days (CA law)
  • Relocation reimbursement
  • One of the buildings has an $18K Coffee Art Plus espresso machine

Cons:
  • CA
  • Soon I have to go back to school
  • No cell phone signal
  • No wifi

20 vaca days - might be 25 now since I've been here 15 yrs. I end up taking most of December off.
most employees WFH full time since about 2005 (biggest reason I'm still here, very convenient for kids)
"unlimited" sick days
12 holidays, 6 are flex
401k match up to 6%
stock discount
good health plans including $0 but doesn't include hospital/ER
salary is just ok though, but they gave me a nice 8% regional adjustment recently so I'm content for a while
gave me $27k in pension money for some reason
