What are your expectations for Jurassic Park 3?

Jurassic Park 1 is definitely the kind of movie that I would not mind watching more than once.

Jurassic Park 2, I felt offended and ripped off after watching this movie . I would have prefered if it had never been created, it ruined the fun for those who enjoyed the first movie.

At least that's what I hope.

Hell, the book that was the sequel to Jurassic Park was crap, so I really didn't expect much from the sequel, and I really wasn't surprised with the result. If they try to keep things away from the timeline of the 2nd book as much as possible, they might be able to do something with it. Who knows?

What did you expect from a movie starring Jeff Goldblum in the lead?

Sam Neill is the guy who appeared in the first movie. JP3 takes place during a period of time between the first and the second movie.

I ain't gonna waste my time, especially after JP2 was such total crap. JP3 will be even worse, and I hope it bombs. Hollywood needs to come up with some original ideas, all these remakes and rereleases are really starting to irk me. They were cool for a little while, but it's starting to get real old.

while i agree benchiu you cannot deny the economics of such ideas.....JP2 while doing a lower overall gross than JP1 managed to outdo the Opening weekend box office sales of the first. as long as there are ppl willing to pay to see such movies there will always be room for sequels.

The first one was about Dinosaurs and people not getting along.

The second one was about Dinosaurs and people not getting along.

I know that Jurassic Park 3's plot involves the genetic altering of the dinosaurs. In the preview, the genetically altered Velociraptors were able to create a trap using a steel "birdcage" to entrap the stranded team of paleontologists.

The preview makes it look extremely corny. William H. Macy has already shown disdain towards this movie.

Looks too complicated, I like my storylines to be clean and simple. Dinos setting traps...you've gotta be kidding.

And can someone explain to me the plot of the lost world? I've only seen it once, but I never understood the purpose of it.

That's what my hollywood insider says.

Sam Neil gets my hat tip, but frankly that preview is suck. Lots of the same. What made JP1 worthwhile is it was fresh and there was a lot of mystery and suspense. This was greatly destoryed when there were dinosaurs all over the place and you couldn't shake a stick at the number of raptors that were running around.
Also, can we say Congo? The parallels seem innumberable. I was greatly disappointed by the second one and I imagine this one will be equally if not more terrible. They really should try some new tricks in this film and if they don't, which economicaly I wouldn't recommend, it should be similar trash to the sequel.
Another thing they should do in the third is go back to having a small cast. In JP2 the cast was 100s larger than the original. This resulted in not knowing, or caring, about the majority of the people who were running around. Not to mention everyone's natural dislike for the main character.
And finally, when will people learn to leave those damn dinos alone! sheesh

Yeah, I just hope that JP3 bombs. I kind of have a feeling it will since it has not gotten much press at all yet. Usually there is a lot of hype surrounding summer blockbuster flicks, but I hadnt heard anything about it until I saw The Mummy Returns yesterday. Then again, maybe the public will fall for it all over again, who knows. I do like the music for Jurassic Park though.

Is it just me or do the cgi effects look worse than the first 2? When she's looking at the raptor in the lab, it looks worse than some video game cutscenes I've seen. :|

werk, lol. Go frame-by-frame at that part and the raptor looks super funny as it starts. And it is really bad too.

check out 1:41 for some nicer graphics. Also wasn't the ability to communicate already a given for raptors. What were the requirements to be a script writer for this movie? Writing &quot;Groundhog Day&quot; ? sheesh
