went out eating with my cousin and friends, took a little longer than expected.

at 10:45 the oh shit lights came on and we ran out and hopped on a cab. this is like NYC with cabs and at that hour, 99% of all cabs were occupied. we got to the last 1 mile or so from taipei 101, and we had to walk it. it's like a times square thing, so with 2 million people here, it was almost impossible to get any closer.

i got a terrible view, and afterward we were supposed to go clubbing, but instead we decided to crash and watch the flag ceremony the next day. i guess it's pretty interesting to watch taiwan citizens sing their hearts out and watch their flag get raised at 6am. i saw some dude next to me who was obviously like me. taiwanese kid back here from the US during winter break. he had an evo 4g and a Texas Rangers cap. Wanted to yell Giants baby, but i guess that wasn't appropriate. lol.

My gf and I had a nice prime rib dinner tonight and ended up taking a nice walk along the harbor, then realized it was another 5 hours before midnight. It was too cold to figure out what to do for the entire next 5 hours so we opted to head home and be under the sheets watching E.R. (season 12)

We had a surprisingly warm morning today and it stayed nice all the way up until evening. Most folks only needed a windbreaker walking around. Really weird considering most of the east coast has been well below freezing this past week.

Kind of a weird night. Pretty much all of my friends around here (that aren't at school) went to NY for the weekend. So I ended up hanging out with this girl that I hooked up with in July and kind of dated for a few weeks. Who now has a boyfriend. Just us.

Went downtown around 9:30, there was an outdoor concert (Gin Blossoms and The Romantics), which was actually really cool. Tons of people. And it's like 50 degrees tonight, in Michigan, on New Year's, what the heck? It was supposed to rain but it hardly did.

Anyways, I thought the situation was kind of awkward (am I wrong?) but it was actually really fun. I'd rather do that than get trashed any day. Although, there were a lot of cute girls there, but I'm sure it looked like I was at the concert with my girlfriend. Fail.

my pot luck dinner party was kinda fail... it ended up just being the stuff I cooked/bought and a salad that one friend brought. despite the culinary failure, though, it was still a pretty enjoyable evening.

we had a late night dinner (lasagna, came out well considering it was my first time making it and I had issues with the recipe), drank a few bottles of wine, and watched the ball drop. friends left just before 1 am, I washed about half of the dishes, put away the left-over food, and am now just relaxing a bit before bed.

Went out dancing. It was OK, the live band sucked balls. I wish they just played DJ music the whole night instead.

Some cute girls and all, but it overall lead me to being unhappy when I finally arrived at my door to my room around 2:20AM.

I kept seeing couples together and such and then here I am... coming home alone, again... and I don't see it changing because I am not physically attractive and I have standards.

Do0d, pay more overall attention to those around you. You'll see that people who are successful with the opposite sex can be all over the map as far as how physically perfect they are.

Confidence (not overbearing ego, just quiet, sunny, friendly self-assurance) is attractive. If you are genuinely enjoying yourself, you're like a beacon of light in a storm-tossed sea of lonlieness.

No matter who you are, there is always someone out there for you. But you do have to put yourself out there, just not in any desperate or overly needy way. Just get out there all the damn time in public doing or attending things that you like, and fate will eventually take its course.

Summon the sunny confidence to reach out, but only in a low key, friendly way, and you will transform your life and your prospects. Be nice and outgoing to EVERYONE, not just those you wish to copulate with, and that "person of interest" may appear on the sidelines, admiring how warm you are.

You are NOT that bad looking, btw, you just think so, and this is holding you back.
