For a world religions class I?m taking I need to write a paper based on an interview with someone regarding their religious beliefs, and being an avid follower of the many theism vs atheism threads I know there are at least some religious people here. Please feel free to post your beliefs here even if you don't have the time to go into as much depth as I need for my paper, but I ask that you please DO NOT FLAME other peoples beliefs in this thread. The only requirement for my paper is that you must belong to an organized religion of some sort, in other words it can't just be your own personal mix of different religions (although it can by any small religion or sect). If you would prefer not to post your beliefs here and would rather keep them more private, feel free to email me with them. Lastly, my paper needs to be at least 3 pages based completely on the response I get from one person, so please answer the following questions as thoroughly as you reasonable can (or face the possibility of follow up questions! ).
1) What is the name of your religion, and how did you first come to be a believer in it?
2) Who is God, and what is he like?
3) Does God communicate with us? And if so how?
4) How does one obtain salvation (or enlightenment)?
5) Does your religion affect your day to day life, and if so how?
6) What do you think about other religions?
7) How familiar are you with the scriptures and teachings of other religions?
8) What are the most important aspects of your religion?
9) How do you primary practice your religion (do you go to church, meditate, etc)?
These are all the questions I can currently think of, but please feel free to add anything that I missed or which you believe to be important to your beliefs.
Thank you for your time.
