saw pearl jam before they were famous.

might mighty bosstones, anal wise and beautiful woman, and a whole bunch of boston bands back in the90s.

saw bob dylan, david bowie, pink floyd, springsteen, in the80s.

probably the best concert i ever went to was a weather report rehash seven years ago. i guess i simply dont go to concerts that much, would rather go to a club and see a live act.

Not much of a concert goer. I went to a few country gigs recently with the wife, Jimmy Buffet, etc.
Back in the days:

Stephen Stills
Heart ( at a little speedway in Yakima, before they had any traction )
Bruce Springsteen and the E-street band
Chicago
Queen
Moody Blues x2

Got a headache thinking about all the different bands.

What I decided to list was the superlative moments in history.

Grateful dead - last show
Phish New Years even 9 years in a row
Placido Domingo - Fireside in Vienna with Micheal Sylvester
Renee Fleming - Premier of Susannah
DMB- small bar in Virginia
Robyn Hitcock - Metro
Nillson - Beatles fest chicago
Beastie Boys License to Ill tour
Nathan Gunn - Selections from Fledermaus in concert

So many more...

Hundreds. Most of the interesting ones were punk bands in the 1980s - Minneapolis had one of the best punk scenes in the US in those days, and I went to 1-2 all-ages shows every week. In high school alone I probably saw 400 bands, including pretty much all the influential punk bands from that era.

A few highlights:

- First concert was Elvis Costello at some civic auditorium on Cape Cod when I was 11.
- Saw the Who farewell tour in 1982 when I was 12.
- First saw Husker Du play at a basement party my sister took me to when I was 12.
- Saw the Police's final tour (at least for many years) in 1983 when I was 13.
- Saw an early Flaming Lips show in about 1985, with just a couple of hundred people in attendance.
- Saw the Pogues, at the height of their powers, in about 1989 at a small ballroom in NYC.
- Saw the Stiff Little Fingers reunion tour in NYC in about 1989 (not a great show, but a great thing to have seen).
- Saw the Roger Waters The Wall show on the Berlin Wall in 1990.
- Saw Radiohead at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in SF on the OK Computer tour in 1997. Opening act was Spiritualized.

Dozens but not hundreds. Still try to see one new band a month but have dropped off lately. Next up is Penguin Prison.
