Friday, I had a pint of Bear Republic Hop Rod Rye, then a bottle of Regenboog Guido (a dark, strong Belgian with honey and raisins).
Saturday was the Stone 12th anniversary festival, where I had:
Brew Dog Imperial Stout and Imperial IPA (the imperial stout was probably my favorite of the festival, with hints of peat and a slightly sweeter malt flavor than usual)
The Bruery's Humulus Brown, a hopped Belgian brown
St. Fueillien Trippel
Stone Smoked Porter with vanilla beans - this hardly tasted like beer at all, more like cream soda
Oskar Blues Big Chub Scottish Ale
Papago Taz
St. Bernardus Abt 12
Moylan's Kilt Lifter Scottish Ale
Avery Ale to the Chief
Rogue Imperial Stout - they didn't have a name for this one, just a percentage (11%)

I'm kind of on an IPA kick right now. My local indie bar down here in Florida just happened to have a bottle of Stone Ruination IPA that someone had dropped off for them to sample. I was drinking and talking with the bar tender late late one night and we were discussing IPAs and she remembered the bottle and she split it with me and a friend of mine.

Its important to know that most American breweries won't ship any farther than the center of the state of Florida. Granted, there's a good selection of North Western and California microbreweries that you can find around here, but not as good as it should be.. we don't even have Fat Tire in south florida...

Anyway, the Ruination was great and I've been reading up on Stone's selection. Good stuff.

What beer am I drinking this weekend? Sorry, its been nothing bud bud lights on the beach for volley ball and ultimate frisbee. If I could have anything I wanted it would be a Titan or Hercules Double IPA, both from The Great Divide Brewing Company.

Being in SLC/Park City, UT, I tried the beers at Squatters Brew pub and was very pleased. The varieties were great and the selection was good.

It's a shame you're out in Florida, then. San Diego seems to be, for better or for worse, focusing the majority of its beers on IPAs, DIPAs, IIPAs, and so on. Bell's Brewing even made a joke out of it with their Big Head DIPA, a "San Diego ale" "that's made with more attitude than hops and, boy, are there a lot of hops." Port Brewing seems to be especially responsible for this, as most of their beers, especially the seasonals, seem to be extremely hoppy. Sometimes I really love having 20+ extremely hoppy beers brewed within 30 miles, but at other times it kinda gets old...

Pm responded to, I like me some stouts by far, specifically an imperial stout. But a few bocks, hefeweizen, and wheat beer, and white beers are tasty too. Still have a lot of beer to drink and a lot to learn
