While I am not an AB hater, I was a little bit disappointed in the Budweiser Ale.

It certainly wasn't bad, but they need to price it lower. I can get a 6 pack of any Sam Adams heart::beer for $7 at the grocery store, while the Bud Ale was $6.50.

I like a lot of things, but I don't like fruity beers, like lambic or crap like that. I like my beer like I like my women, full bodied and strong. I want to know that I'm drinking a BEER not watered up beer flavor or cherry crap.

The brewery was out of the double IPA. I went to BevMo and stocked up on kind beer. Right now I'm having a Dogfish Head Midas Touch Golden Elixer, the beer that was reverse-engineered from residue found in King Midas' tomb. It might be my second favorite of their lineup - you can taste the muscat grapes and honey, but I miss the hops found in the 90 Minute IPA. Which is not a problem, because I also got 2 4-packs of 90, a 6 of 60 and a six of Green Flash West Coast IPA. I think I'm set for the weekend.

The Green Flash West Coast IPA is outstanding. The closest thing I've found in hop profile to Dogfish 90 and a 6-pack is $9.49 compared to 9.99 for a 4-pack of 90. Next I'll compare it with a Dogfish 60, which is also 9.99, but 6% ABV compared to Green Flash's 7% ABV.

I'm on a Dogfish 60 now and it doesn't have as good a hop profile as the Green Flash West Coast IPA but it may be a bit better balanced. I'm still stuck on the Dogfish 90 (on deck), but this Green Flash is beating last weekend's Alaskan IPA for second place.
