"Kingsbridge" series by Ken Follett (on the second book now,
World Without End). Just as awesome as The Century trilogy; I can't put them down. This book was made into a mini-series some years back and it's on Amazon Prime Video now. It's definitely a little different than the book but I think it's overall mostly true to it, on the main points. I thought it was decent but of course they had to leave out a lot of things.
Audiobook in car is
Finest Years: Churchill as Warlord 1940-1945. By MAH BOY Max Hastings. Typically great just like all his other work. I ended up giving up on the Extinction Cycle series somewhere in the second book. I started off really pleased with it but I dunno, I just lost interest. I can do that pretty easily on things (books/movies/games) though so I can't really say it was a horrible series.
After I finish World Without End I'm really looking forward to CJ Chivers' new book,
The Fighters. "
The Fighters vividly conveys the physical and emotional experience of war as lived by six combatants: a fighter pilot, a corpsman, a scout helicopter pilot, a grunt, an infantry officer, and a Special Forces sergeant." I loved his book on the history, development, impact of the Kalashnikov rifle, The Gun, so I'm sure I'll love this one too. I just learned about his new book last week, he was a guest on someone's show/podcast, and I almost pooped myself in glee.
