OK. I found another coffee that I like better than the above Jamaica Blue Mountain blend. Costco had Lavazza Caffe Espresso beans and I bought a bag to try it. I really like it, and Lavazza Espresso beans will be my daily coffee going forward as long as Costco keeps carrying it. I'm going to buy like 10 bags to stock up in case Costco stops carrying it.

I've tried Lavazza a few times and always been under-whelmed ... to be fair however I've never had their whole-beans only the pre-ground stuff.

My cheap go-to is Cafe Bustello Espresso which I can usually find for less than $5 a can and for the price especially is pretty good.

Also (when its on sale) I enjoy Starbucks Sumatra dark roast or French Roast as well as Dunkin dark roast.

I use super automatic espresso machine. So I can only use non-oily type beans. Which means I can only use light or medium roast beans. The dark oily beans will mess up my espresso machine. So that limits my bean choices. I always had good luck with Lavazza line of beans. I purchased Lavazza SuperCrema beans years back from Amazon and really liked it. I find their coffee really smooth and easy to drink. And I get more crema when I use Lavazza brand beans than any other beans with my automatic espresso machines. So when I saw Lavazza Caffe Espresso beans at Costco, I bought some to try. And it's awesome. The beans are perfect for my Jura Z6 machine and the espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, coffee, and flat white drinks are noticeably better when using Lavazza beans. My wife and I noticed it right away. We're like this is so good. I've been drinking twice many drinks because everything is so good.

Costco Business Center will discount $2 off Lavazza Caffe Espresso beans next month. So 2.2 lb bag should be about $10. That's super price so I will stock up on that sale.

Good lord ... $2600 on sale ?!?

That thing better make the best dang espresso on the freaking planet plus make me a cucumber sammich too!

Jura z6 @ Costco

I consider coffee makers throw-away items that get too funky to use after a few years so I tend to spend as little as possible to get a decent cup. Looks really nice though!

It's worth every penny! I had Gaggia Titanium for about 10 years before it finally died on me and this Jura Z6 is such huge upgrade over the Gaggia. Nice super automatic espresso machine is one of life's small luxuries everyone should experience and own. It's so nice to have any coffee based drink on demand anytime I want it. One press of a button and I have my drink. No driving to Starbucks or any coffee shop. And the coffee I get from Jura Z6 is better than Starbucks.

I had high expectation when I bought Jura Z6. It's better than I expected. If you ask me to Jura Z6 or sex for a week, I would pick Jura over sex. That's how much I love my new coffee machine.

Sadly I can't say I disagree about good coffee vs sex .... this is one of the ways you KNOW you're old!

And believe me I'm not judging after spending $1300 on a GPU myself which won't last me half as long!

counter culture's hologram is my favorite. light roast, tastes fruity/berryish, and minimal acidity if i make it right in my aeropress. works well by itself, and also good with milk.

It's because we're old and wise! I can skip a week of sex and be ok. But if I skip a week of coffee, I'm going to be mean and angry person suffering terrible headache and in pain from caffeine withdrawal.

I think you guys are crazy giving Nvidia all that money to play games. I can't imagine paying $1,300 for video card. I paid like $700 for my entire desktop computer last year and it's pretty nice computer. Granted, I don't really game anymore but my desktop can do some light gaming. It came with GTX 1660 Super which will play all the old games I like.

Funny that.
I can do without coffee, but a few days of no sex gets me ornery. A friend from the hills used to "relieve" his bull to keep him placid. Folgers Columbian is what we do daily.

Does it make actual coffee or just Americanos? I have an earlier model Jura and what it calls "coffee" is basically just superheated compressed water passed through some grounds.

Not 100% sure. My Gaggia made Americano. It would shoot a shot of espresso and then add hot water to the espresso. I could see the clear hot water being added. It's harder to tell with the Jura Z6. It looks like coffee the entire time its dispensing the liquid. I can't see the clear hot water like I could with Gaggia. But I suspect it's Americano as well. But it's really great coffee. Best I've had.

Can't say I completely disagree!

Although to be fair "value" is only what folks are willing to pay and insane as it sounds at the moment $1300 for a 3080 is a relatively "good" deal.

I was getting by with a GTX-980 fine myself (performs about the same as your 1660 Super) until I upgraded to a 32-inch 1440p/165hz monitor over the summer then things got a little ugly.

Gold old pour over when out camping.

Mine makes a super frothy coffee with a lot of foam at the top. Not really a fan of it but I think if I had a nicer model I would like it more.

Everything is relative ...... having a million-dollar house or any other expensive toys to play with for that matter will only go so far towards peace of mind. (all that REALLY matters IMO)

I've personally known several miserable and dysfunctional super-rich folks (including a couple who ended up killing themselves ) and happy well-adjusted folks that literally live hand-to-mouth.

Obviously all else being equal it's better to be a "have" than a "have not" but if you are not comfortable in your own skin, more "things" won't make it any better.

Ironically, I preferred Lavazza ground coffee over its beans. Even at the low prices that Lavazza beans sell for on Amazon (few days ago, $10 for the 2 lb. bag of Super Crema), I'd rather buy other coffee.

Bustelo was my go-to coffee for years, and Target sells the "party tub" (36 oz.) for about $12! Clearly I'm not a coffee snob.

IDK I've had some seriously expensive coffee (civet-beans = nothing special!) and am a picky bastard myself ... if I like it it's usually the most expensive with everything not only coffee and NO this is in no way a positive!

Bustelo is a happy exception, even completely discounting price it isn't bad coffee at all. In fact it's substantially better then most of what you'll find on the shelf (ground) in a in a grocery store even for 2-3x the price.

One thing I will say though is for me a 36 oz tub would be stale before I killed it. I'll buy 1 can plus a few of the slightly cheaper vacuum-packed foil bags and refill instead.

I'm not a huge coffee guy, but my wife is. Like the posts above, I have a Jura as well (mine is the S8). I had a nespresso, but my wife still wanted starbucks regularly. Now, she doesn't want starbucks whatsoever (last time we went she literally said "ugh, this isn't as good as I remember"). That alone has made it worth the investment.

I get the beans from Kuma Coffee (my coworker who is a coffee nut recommended it, and we like it).
