i have been logging things and it seems to me eating healthy lowfat diets and exercising, you can still get gas. For me certain vegetables, beans, and dairy can do it. Its not extreme and when I have junk food for a change I really notice the stomach pains, etc.

But just wondering I sometimes see things like gas ex or whatever.

Can these things help? do you just take it before a meal you know causes gas?

and more importantly is the stuff expensive and cause any side effects with the ingredients they use?

you need to eat slower...and chew your food up better. thats why you're gettin gas. all that crap helps, but most times you take it after the meal. only real side effects is you gotta take a sh!t.

The bacteria that make gas must like all of the protein you are eating. I don't think there is anything you can do. The gas is caused by bacteria in your digestive tract and you have given them a lot of good stuff to eat. I think if you just give it time, it should subside.

Just let it rip! Some times you just need to lift a leg a rip a good one! You'll feel better, and we all do it. (Some more than others!)

I actually learned in my physiology class that farting was a sign that you WERE healthy.

I hear yall its kind of wierd to have gas when you eat healthy though. Plus it clears rooms unlike junk food I swear! But atleast I don't get the painfull stomach aches and pressure with healthy food which is good I guess.

but i was seriously looking into some stuff to take only if it doesn't do your body any harm, actually works, and is cheap to take for like 2 meals/day.

I really don't like doing it anyway but when it needs to come out I let it, but its still pretty bad when it reeks to you and you did it.

there is a new product that filters out your farts so they don't smell... it's on this board somewhere.. can't remember where, maybe you should look into it

sit on the turlet for about 5 hours and just keep on pumping your abs. clear everything outta there. you won't fart for a week.

I feel your pain damac. When I first really started eating right, I had gas that could clear a room in 2 seconds flat. I would have to find an "unpopulated" area to let it rip so that I wouldn't be poisoning my own air. It was terrible.

I don't know if it just took my body some getting used to, but I don't have that problem anymore. My recommendation would be to carry some air freshener for a while, maybe yours will pass, too.

well its been just over a year so no it never really went away. As I got to my target weight and started weening off the diet as in so restrictive in calories and upped my weight training and food intake I find that I cannot just stop eating things like dairy, meat, beans, etc. I like to eat tons of stuff that is atleast non junk food. Exercise and tons of water intake daily doesn't seem to stop it. Certain foods just make me rip for hours. I get tons of fiber also and going to the bathroom isn't a problem. I guess its just something you have to live with. I wondered though how common it actually is. If I had an actual job where I was around others for a typical work day I wouldn't be able to hold it in which sucks.

so far I have heard of gasex and beano and Im gonna look up some info on them, follow the directions and log my gas times to see if anything works.

I went super healthy and started to just eat salads with TONS of veggies and very little "bad foods". Well, my arse started working overtime, and my "gas" was sickening, but that is the price you have to pay I guess. If milk/diary products cause gas, you might be lactose intolerant and might wish to look into something like Lactate.

Usually, your body gets used to it with time, and the amount of gas becomes less. But you say it's been a year.
Sometimes anxious or tense folx swallow air in their saliva (they make fine bubbles) and this causes mucho farting (with any diet, btw).
BTW, a lot of the gas comes from undigested carbo and sugars in the intestine, which normal healthful bacteria feast on, giving off the gas.

There is also activated charcoal capsules that help neutralize the, uh, odor.

Certain foods just make me rip for hours.

Whew! I'm glad to hear someone else having this problem. In the past, I've been know to fart once or twice every minute for about 2 hours after eating certain foods.
