in india from ages 0-3 they had a 198Something VW Jetta

once we moved to the states in 89, dad drove a 3rd hand 1985 Audi 5000 station wagon. 6 cigarette lighters!
and mom drove a 1989 Honda Accord.

in 98 we got rid of the Audi and Got a '98 Jelly Bean aka Grand Caravan, dad took the old accord
in '02 the accord hit black ice on a highway exit and was totaled, got a 2003 cr-v to replace it.

in '04 they moved out of the country but they keep a 2008 RL at their house here for when they visit.

The first car was a 1960 Rocket 88 Oldsmobile, in black. Similar to this dynamic, but a two door car. It was odd, we had a bunch of us in the family but the folks got two door "hot rods". The Rocket had a 394 big block and was low, dark, and fast. My sister killed it long before I really was able to appreciate it.

A plethora of shitty American cars and some tiny Japanese cars. None of them are worth mentioning really. I'd take my Camry Hybrid over any of them... or all of them combined.

Right after collapse of Soviet Belarus in 1991, my father somehow managed to scrape some money for a 1989 Subaru (something) sedan which he bought in 1992. It was light blue/gray color and it was a Maybach of Belarus at the time. He sold it in 1994. Once my father moved to Germany, he bought a 1997 Nissan Almera 1.4 hatchback in 2003 and drove it until 2008. He bought a 2004 VW Golf 1.4 in beginning of 2008 and drove it until two cylinders misfired in 2012. A timing belt has skipped a tooth and so the engine ran like shit. He replaced the car with 2010 Mercedes-Benz B200 CDI and still continues to drive it to this day. I miss Nissan Almera - excellent A to B transportation.

My mother didn't get her first car until 2007. We bought a 2004 Lexus RX330 AWD with Performance package. We still have it and it only has 51k miles.

I am planning to give my Honda Accord to my mother once she sells her Lexus in a couple of years so I can buy myself an upcoming Mazda 2.
