Not quite buddy, pick up the physics book again. MOMENTUM is what counts here, not just velocity.

Not only that, but a head on crash is safer as two cars absorb and disperse the energy instead of one.

Ya that was completely wrong....interesting to read so many other people were fed that garbage in school like I was and there are a lot of good sites that show why this is incorrect.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say here.

Are you saying two cars head on at 70 mph and both equally distributing the collision energy is no safer than a single car going 140 mph into a indestructable wall and taking all the energy itself?

I'd rather hit another car head on at 70 mph than crash into a concrete post at 140 mph.

crashing into water alone at that speed would be pretty bad. At 140mph, I'd take hitting a pole though...most are designed to have some sheer rating and also I could minimize impact much easier than trying to figure out what another driver would try to do.

I was thinking more an non moveable object such as the massive concrete columns that hold up major freeway bridges, etc. At 140mph the car would probably be vaporized and there be a few scratches and a burn mark on the column.

That white one outside. Sometimes. I bought gasoline ...what, three times this year? I did finally get the oil changed; I hear you're supposed to do that at least once every 2 years.

Dodge Caravan, 1990's or so. My other cars are not cars.

1999 Ford Escort FTW!!!!

eh, it was a free car from my parents that I got new when I was 16. I'm not really going to complain about it. I'm going to drive it until it has nothing left... the longer I wait, the more I'll be able to afford.

1998 BMW 323is, 5 speed.

edit: No, maintenance bills are not a pain. I just keep up with oil changes and changed the cooling system and filters when I got it (known failing point) and everything has been peachy. BMW's are known to go to 250-300k+ without any engine work, just so long as they are maintained. (regular oil changes, filters, etc..)

Dude it's Brougham not as bad as someone that owns a Camero (probably a typo as well, just busting your chops).

If you haven't seen this:82 Bougham Cadillac that does 0-60 in 3.5 sec, turns 1.02g, and a 11.8 1/4 mile...STREET car.

Check it out, while much of the luxury 'ride' is gone, I wouldn't mind fvcking around with people in this one night decked out like an Icy Hot Stunta bumping Vanilla Ice.
