I don't want to spend too much on a donor because I'm sure I'll end up wanting to replace a bunch of parts with new stuff anyway...

Breeze Automotive have a kit with all new parts for $15,000 for 4-link carbed. It's pricy, but boy does all new sound nice.

Why not? The 32 valve version was a very nice engine, though quite wide. And the 24 valve version in the new Mustang is a very nice piece of work.

I was referencing Factory Five kits. Like you said, the 2v engines were nothing, and those are the only ones priced well enough for me to think about dismantling. Not to mention, the 4v is a tight fit. But, wow, does it scream.

the 2v's are easy to wake up with PI swaps and such, and depending on the price can be cheaper. Or go with a later exploder motor or MarkV's.

anyways i use and abuse a 96 t-bird with slightly modded 4.6er & i use my 84 ford mangled truck for winter and trail riding. more road legal than this pic shows....

then when i get some time my 79 firebird will be converted to scca specs

I saw a Hyundia that was hit in front and from behind and the passenger compartment on that car was completely destroyed...especially the rear seat. I don't know what the impact speed was but I would not have wanted to be in that car in a collision.

Yah I'm coming from a 2.0 97 Jetta that was slow as balls and also automatic. This car is definitely pretty quick, and I almost have the hang of stick down pat.

My biggest complaint about recent VW/Audi is that their manual transmissions suck. The clutch has far too long of a travel, and the stick is rubbery. My '95 GTI VR6 was vastly superior to the current gen MT's.

Do you use the chassis from the donor car with the factory five kit? Or do you just use the drivetrain?

My '92 GT is still doing fine....it was just becoming a PITA as a daily driver...

Now that I have the Speed6, I can concentrate on installing this living room full of Mustang parts I have...

Heh considering this is the first manual I've driven, I don't have much to compare it too so to me it's great

Do you use the chassis from the donor car with the factory five kit? Or do you just use the drivetrain?

Drivetrain mainly, also suspension pieces and steering. The chassis and everything is built by FFR.
