find serial number somewhere on your card, you'll be able to find the answer.

My X1800XT has the same clocks as yours. So unless the X1800XLs are clocked the same as the X1800XTs, your card is probably an X1800XT.

It looks like you own an X1800XT. The X1800XL has a Device ID of 7109 and the X1800XT is 7100. Also, your clocks of 600/700 are consistent with those of an X1800XT. The X1800XL is 500/500.

The Vendor ID of 1002 corresponds with ATI Technologies Inc. So it's a BBA (Built By Ati) card.

Hope that helps.

Looks like an XT. Like someone else said those are the 2D clocks. If you look at the "requested" clocks that is what it will run at in 3D Mode.

Yeah, that was a good deal but if you got the one with the $30 rebate, it would've been a much better deal.

The X1800XT runs at that speed and I think that's the only one that runs at those speeds.

Again man, those speeds you are looking at are the 2D clocks. The card slows down in 2D cause it doesn't need to run at full 3d Speeds.... In the CCC look for the speeds it has set for "Requested"

o ok.... 2d clock are like desktop and 3d clocks are games... well i never seen the ATI overdrive so i thought i would try it.. it ran and froze at 100% with no cpu power being used so i ended the process.
Heres a screenshot of what it was saying... is the top the core? and the bottom is memory speeds? at one point the core was almost 700 and the memory was still only around 700... does the 747 mean thats aas high as it will go?

I tried to overclock the card with atu tray tools last night and it ran fine without artifacts for 20 minutes... the moment i tried playing a game it would turn the scren black and i would have to reboot... why?

As a point of practice be very careful about being rude to other posters, you clearly don't know what you're doing with overclocking your graphics card, if you did you wouldn't have gotten confused about the 2d/3d settings.

However no one is born with that information and we will be more than happy to provide it for you if you ask nicely.

Read this thread for general ATI overclocking info http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=31&threadid=1884631&enterthread=y

If you double the memory clock speed that it's displaying (around 700 something?) that is what your clock speed is at.

My 6600gt has a memory clock of 1000mhz, but it only shows up as 500mhz in coolbits, etc.

So, your card is perfectly fine. You got what you ordered and payed for.

And it sounds like you shouldn't overclock your card. I dont think the x1800 series OCs very well sometimes.

yes i know.... 750 = 1500

i got tired of ccc freezing so i uninstalled it. I closed ati tray tools and im trying rivatuner right now.

Riatuner tells me the default clocks are 621/747 (1494)

Im guessing those are my 3d clocks... why does every other program tell me my 2d clocks?
And when i use ATI tray tools... OSD display tells me 594/693 in the top right even when im playing my game.

i cant OC in CCC because it freezes...
i cant OC in ati tray tools cause i hit apply and it goes back to defaults
i cant OC in rivatuner because even though it says 650/750 its still stock speeds in hardware monitor and ati tray tools.

how do i overclock this POS ? nothin will keep the speeds i set.
