What causes those artifacts from memory when oc?!

When oc the memory too much, artifcats started to showed up... is it because of the cooling? will it helps to get them away if i install ram heatsinks on it? or will it helps oc more if i do the voltage mod + heatsinks on ram/core? i wanna oc my geforce2 GTS a bit more ..

I'm sure someone will come along with a much more technical explanation, but simply put it's because the data is moving through the memory faster than it can handle it, and the corrupted data results in artifacts on your screen. Extra cooling and voltage can usually help, but only so far. If you are starting to see artifacts, you are basically reaching the limits of the RAM. Adding more voltage and/or cooling can help squeeze a few more mhz out of it, but don't expect large gains.

Just as Insane3D said, you are on the limit.
If you go further without any extra cooling, you could
"kill" the memory. So, put some heatsinks on it, and
you`ll get some extra MHz, but not much, it`s not
worth it.

Any chances that it will hit to 400MHz? i'm @ 380 but it can do 390 with no artifacts... Would putting the thermal take ram sinks on the card take the card to 400Mhz (10 more)? I need some professional opinions from you guys

i see no point of doing so, as if that 10mhz is gonna give you a huge boost. No.
