Yes, I know white can be a boring color but here is the challenge, what color white paint would you pick?

For example, lets say you have an SUV with black or charcoal grey for the TRIM side and bumper colors what color white paint do you think would look "good" to complement it?

Here is an example of a pic I found on the internet....

Or would you paint it just full white?

There's more than just white. There are warm whites that have orange/yellow/red in it, there are cool whites that have blue in them, then you can get into pearl whites. Cadillac has a very nice pearl white I'd like, but not cheap.

Yeah I know. Trying to decide if I should get a White with pearls in it or just a solid White.

So far, for solids I like Aspen pure white and diamond white. Maybe Ibis White as well.

White Pearl looks nice as well.

I do not want any off white or warm whites.

Our GMC has the diamond white. Same paint you can get on a Cadillac. Looks great in the sun. IMHO a pure white on an SUV is too appliance-like.

On another forum, people are debating what you said concerning bright white colors for an SUV.

Maybe I should just stick with the Oxford White and call it a day?

Couldn't agree more. It's boring enough on cars, but on something with boxy sides it just looks like a refrigerator.

Much like the yellow H2 looks like the short bus.

Silver pearl with silver metallic flake looks great. Don't go flat white... bleh.

Somehow it does work on BMWs....but they're hardly boxy. It would look terrible on our GMC.

Sounds dumb but when I was shopping for a compact I was unhappy that I couldn't get pearl white on a Focus SE. I had to go for a higher trim which then meant I couldn't get an MT. Needless to say I don't own a Focus

why is white the only choice? what about a nice, deep metallic burgundy or something? or hunter green? both of those would look way better than any white.

< not a fan of white vehicles. has to drive a white f-150 for work. hates it.

If you go white it has to be pearl or flake. If you really have the big plastic sides on the car, I wouldn't get something too crazy though. It'll look out of place.

Many reasons for me to stick with a White paint. The hot humid climate, kids using nails to scratch cars where I work (long story here), more expensive for me to change color, white is easy to repair and the list goes on. So the car stays white for now.

Car has Oxford White at the moment and a charcoal trim around the sides and bumper.

Here are pictures of what my vehicle looks like with the same color paint and trim so you guys can get a better idea...

Basically, I was just wondering if I should stick with the Oxford White or change the color to some fancy looking white pearl or pure white looking type color.

People on other forums have also given me other choices of white paints to consider. I don't think any bright white would look good for an SUV.

Considering just sticking with the original color as well.

I would get it blue, red, orange, green, yellow, purple, or some actual color. White, Gray, and black are stupid for cars since they are not colorful enough.

I love a clean, pure non-metallic white. Ford has one called Oxford White they've been using for decades. Had a car that color - it looked good.

That is BEAUTIFUL!! Wow!

Looks like it might be a tri-coat system.

I wonder if it is a white platinum effect color on it?

Mazda typically uses white with a pearl clear coat and metallic flakes.

Oxford White is whats on my vehicle now. Its a solid White color indeed.

Considering some factors here......

1) Budget

2) Dodgey body shops here to deliver a skilled job

3) Area where I park my vehicle can be prone to vandal attacks

4) my vehicle is over 10 years old and not some fancy SUV or sports car

5) ease of repair for dents and scratches and trust me with the bad road conditions and areas where I park it will be at the mercy of the environment and people.

Considering those factors (some others I did not mention) I have decided to stick with Oxford White and call it a day. I think its best considering my budget and environment at the moment.

Thank you all for your suggestions and some colors you all mentioned were truly eye astonishing indeed.

I am finished with this thread. Later guys.
