What company makes is the best G2 MX?

I currently have a 16MB TNT2 and want to upgrade to a G2 MX or a video comparable to it.

Based on the reviews I have seen, it sounds like the Guillemot Prophet MX has the most potential. It comes with the fastest RAM and is clocked at 183 MHz from the factory. It also appears to be one of the more expensive cards.

The Guillemot may be slightly faster, but Asus makes the higher quality part. I havent heard particularily good things about Guillemots reliability or service.

The Hercules/Guillemot one looks cool and is faster clocked but I don't know if it is worth the extra cost. The Leadtek one is pretty good and has TV-out if you need that. The ASUS one is good too. THose three are in same price range I believe.

For the best value, I think a eVGA one is the way to go. Nothing fancy but is is as low as $108 compared to $120-$130+ like the previous three.

If you value a good TV-out, I don't recommend LeadTek's incarnation of the GF2 MX board.

The best bang for the the buck is eVGA's version of the GF2 MX board.
They can be had for roughly $109 US. They are also having a preorder for the MX TwinView boards for $139 US.

I would go for the Prophet II MX board by Hercules. They have faster SDRAM clocked at 183 Mhz. Retail boards also have a 3 year warranty if you value that.

Do not get the OEM version. OEM versions of the Prophet II MX board have slower SDRAM clocked at the speed of 143 Mhz.

I would Have to say the 3D Prophet 2 GTS 32M. I just purchased it and man do I love this card (mind you I came from a Maxigamer phoenix, lol, talk about stone age). My buddy just upgraded his voodoo2000 to the MX version of my card and he is really happy with it as well, although, it doesnt have tv-out which was a consideration of mine. I have heard that you run into problems when running these cards and SB live but I have not had a problem yet. I am running live value so I dont know if that makes a difference. Ok now for the downside. Guillemot doesnt exactly have the best track record for getting new drivers out, and there webpage is slow to load. Another thing is the price, man is thiscard expensive and I could not find it at any local computer store. I had to buy mine from EB where the price is inflated to cover the credit card overhead. Nvidia has a driver for all the Nvidia G2's so I would suggest using that driver since it is the newest. anyway I hope this helped
