Not a fan of ham sandwiches, but if I have one, I prefer highly spiced brown mustard.

For condiments I usually just put mayo, onions and heinz piccalilli sauce. Sometimes hot sauce as well.

I really recommend the heinz piccalilli sauce. Good stuff.

My Dad's Dad was English, and his Mother was French, twice the reason this was in regular use for sandwiches and such in our household, as chow-chow is essentially the same thing. Piccalilli or chow-chow, we'd have either.



Piccalilli/Chow-chow has that classic sharp/sweet combo, a basic culinary building block which works every damn time.

Which leads me to:


I bought some a while ago, but it bombed for me as a stand alone spread on toast or crackers. And so it remains in my fridge, ignored and. Not considering other uses was obviously a failure of the imagination on my part.

Ham sammich?

YELLOW mustard, mayo (or Miracle Whip, which ever is in the fridge) romaine lettuce, and cheese...American, swiss, pepper jack, what ever is in the fridge)..and ham...lots and lots of ham. Don't really care what kind of bread...white, wheat, rye, sourdough...
