The US government killed JFK.

You know I read 11.22.63 and we are now watching the tv show based on it; this does not feel as far fetched to me now as it used to. It's idiotic that I may be changing my mind (well I'm not really changing my mind, just open to the discussion) based on a piece of fiction, but I can't help myself.

can we just call everything alternative facts?

So if "alternative facts" are just falsehoods/lies, does that make the "alt-right" just wrong?

I actually would tend to agree with this, but more broadly. I think that alcohol generally is far worse for us than we are led to believe. Yes, I still drink it.

It absolutely is. There is a very well established link between alcohol consumption and certain cancers, yet there's no "truth" movement about that. Shit, even when it comes to drinking and driving they talk up fucking tickets and court costs more than danger.

It's worse the way we Americans drink it. We drink to get tore up. I remember dating a girl in Italy and we went through this whole conversation about how she doesn't understand why people drink to get wasted.

That is hardly an American thing (and even in America it is specific groups/demographics that do that). Not saying there isn't a difference. Part of it is the stigma about alcohol, where its forbidden until you're 21, so it kinda requires justified excess. I mean, I remember in high school, there were plenty of kids busted with alcohol, and it was never over a single beer, but rather them having an entire case of it.

I believe Microsoft has ulterior motives as evident with Windows 10.

Oh they have plenty of motives, they're hardly ulterior.

I'll tell you the conspiracy theory I don't believe:

that conspiracy is at all rare and isn't the central modus operandi of the elite

But people love the naive fantasy that profit-seeking isn't a conspiracy to get people to pay more for things than what they're worth — the very foundation of capitalism

"Conspiracy theory" = "I can't be bothered to look beyond the mainstream narrative to find out what the actual truth is"

Everything needs to be fact-checked, including the claims of the fact checkers.

Probably Christianity, but if that's wrong, then I definitely believe in infinite universes because that means Star Wars is/was real.

I believe Walmart coordinates with various distributors to alternate availability of certain store-brand products and name-brand products.

The US government killed JFK.

Two thoughts on that:

1. We tried to take out Castro, then all of a sudden our president is assassinated after that...tit for tat.

2. The latest I've heard from the reviews of the photos, accounts, ballistics, etc., actually say he might have survived, but one of the SS guys mis-fired & shot JFK in the head. So the cover up was partly not to make ourselves look bad.

i'm into the whole "bush did 911 - jet fuel" thing. i cannot accept the amount of coincidences needed for this thing to work, not am i satisfied with the various "evidence", especially of the plane that hit the pentagon.

by which i mean conspiracies still majorly thought to be false. not those which are quite obviously true. also, considering the modus operandi of the CIA, i wouldn't be surprised if a whole bunch others were true as well.

I don't believe in any, but I'm open to alternative narratives when it comes to incidents involving US military or espionage that were never explained by authorities.

The US government killed JFK.
a sicilian mafia boss seemed to imply in a tapped phone call that it's a common idea among the mafia that the sicilian-american mafia did it. Of course, it makes them feel powerful, so why not believe?

I don't often times believe in conspiracy theories, but damn the 2002 finals were rigged. Straight up, gave game 6 to the Lakers. So many bullshit calls. There are bad calls in about every game, in every sport. That one was so obvious, it's genuinely the one game/series I believe the refs legitimately made the out come on purpose. This was before dvr and hd tv to rewind and watch again. I remember watching it live and the replays and being like wtf. And refs have be caught rigging games not too long ago too.

I could make a case for Clemson this year in a few games, but I don't believe the refs made the terrible calls on purpose. They just sucked.

I think folks need to read up on Tuskegee syphilis. That's just one conspiracy that has been proven. There are too many others to count.

Conspiracy is what makes the elite elite. People don't just get a billion dollar check dropped off at their house by a stork.

Trump did.
Being born into elite wealth doesn't at all negate my point, though. In fact, it just reinforces it. People like Trump who were born into wealth were taught by their family from their earliest years how to conspire to keep the wealth they have and get more.

When you're born into a working class family you're lucky if your parents teach you how to balance a checkbook. You will not be learning how to create toxic derivatives packages for Goldman Sachs so you can hedge against them.
