It is really comming outside the computer case and only high loads. I have the same with my E5-2696v3 (but not with my E5-2683v3) however the only thing that is the same brand motherboard... haha i think some of the intels does that annoying noise i don't know where it comes from.IFrost, have you tried another sound card? Like external USB one, for example. Is there a difference?
How did you get this? i cn not get it that high mine stuck around 2400 or something...Thanks for all the info guys, awsome work
Got my 2696v3, and damn its powerfull. will upload more pictures

xma, 3402 was modded by Anrentren, but anyway, it's strange that it doesn't work. Let's hope other members of this thread will have ideas.

I personally don't know about the possibility of overclocking any cores of E5-2683 V3 above their maximum turbo of 3.0GHz. It seems to me that in the best case scenario turbo unlock allows all cores to run at maximum turbo speed, not some of the cores above it.I am thinking of a build with the Asrock X99 iTX board.
Whats the best v3 chip to get when it comes to higher clock speeds and temps. It will be air cooled in a DanCase SFX-A4
It looks like many of you prefer the E5-2683v3.
Is there a way to overclock the first 4 cores and leave the remaining at stock. This will give me a good partial boost for gaming and media, but will still have the other cores when Im encoding. I would also hope this would decrease power draw and thermal output.
Thanks so much!
xma, no. I have none of the problems you've mentioned. And before the hack I didn't have TurboBoost problem, my 2696 did accelerate to 2.8GHz (all cores)

xma, I will contact a friend who has the same mobo like we do, maybe he can help.
However, my impression is that you've missed something in the Bios settings. It seems the only explanation
I am running the hack too, modded bios, V3x2_cup27.EFI (or 39 does not matter) + + 0,020V on cpu, diasbled HT and Speedstep in bios. My CPU 'says'(CPUZ and HWiNFO64) that it is running x38 at 3798Mhz great but.... when i put it on load it drops to 3100MHz....He is running the hack. My 2696 gets a score of around 2900 and single core score if 156 with the hack and running a BCLK of 104.5.
thanksxma, it doesn't matter which way you copy the V3.EFI file to your HDD or SDD. But for it to load, you have to execute the bcfg driver add 0 fs1:\EFI\BOOT\V3.EFI "V3 Full Turbo" command from inside the EFI shell. Only then you will see this driver in your BIOS settings and will be able to choose it.
P.S. by the way, as a last resort, I would suggest you to clear CMOS. See what happens then. Who knows, a miracle could happen
I tired with BLCK on 104.5 and even then i get in CB15 a score of 2700 it does not go higher then x31 i can not get all cores higher then this not with uC27 nor uC39I am running the hack too, modded bios, V3x2_cup27.EFI (or 39 does not matter) + + 0,020V on cpu, diasbled HT and Speedstep in bios. any idea?
On ASRock X99 Extreme 4 right now, i will try with my MSI X99S SLI Krait later.

ajschot, it seems to me your motherboard can't provide enough power for this kind of CPU to run at higher speed. Judging from photos, it has only one 8-pin CPU connector.
Hello All,
I have an ASUS x99 E-ws 3.1 MOBO with a 2690 V3. Just with BIOS settings and a 105 BLCK I can get all cores running at 3254. With the BIOS hack will I be able to get 3.5? Thanks for all of the great work
