That's an ASUS board, yes? Then are you using the "Flashback" method or external SPI programmer?
Flashback methode...
I used the methode somewhere here (can not find it back now) to change the the value under 2F +4 and 3 values to the right to -4 with a hex editor. Then opened the file in Ubu 1.66 and removed the microcode and saved the bios (as STXX99.CAP like it must be for USB flashback)
Placed the saved bios on a USB drive and used the flashback button with the stick in the flashback usb connection on the board. Flashed it and then my computer stopted working. now i am flashed to one of the versions on the forum here but it is a -50mv locked version and i have problems with loading the efi driver and i would like to test if other values have better result because this is giving me not good ones. So i want to have a plain bios without microcode.
Hope i found out how to manually add microcode's to an efi driver to test which will work the best because i need a microcode for osx otherwise my machine freezes. But for now want to test on Windows 10 which code is the best.
If i get my bios working....

EDIT: Have it working!
Just downloaded latest UBU 1.69.5 and opened the original bios and removed the mc, saved and flashedback

Is the "flash utility" for dos a one size fits all or do I need a special Asrock Rack one? Because I cannot find an asrock rack flash utility for dos. I can download a .exe from their website but that includes both the bios as well as the flash utility, so I cannot flash my own preferred bios.
You can flash non ucode bios image to Asrock rack mobo with ami windows flash app.(AFUWINGUIx64)
Just open your modded bios image with AFUWINGUI and select "program all blocks" option and flash it.

Also you can change default settings your bios with Ami's "BIOS Configuration Program"(AMIBCP)
Like a disabling c6 on default

Thank you. Flashing from within windows is generally not recommended I thought?

Do you know why Instant flash isn't working anymore with your bios?
I also have some problems with usb ports not working from one moment to the other until I restart the system.
It just doesn't feel like a stable system at all. May I ask how you edited the bios files?

Honestly, if its work i dont care. I flashed my mobo 200 times, still works fine.

Thats not my bios, C_payne's bios. I'm pretty sure he did it well.

I do not recommend embedded bios. Im using right now but not "ok". Post screen takes too much time, sometimes windows starts without efi driver.(x99 taichi)
Adding v3 efi's as a driver with shell on startup still best option.

Im still working on it.

EDIT: I will add rc9 compiles over the weekend as I am 99.9% sure this the final RC. Now taking requests for target builds INCLUDING compiles for Broadwell, if requested.

I will also post a tuning guide. Executive summary: Power Budget = Core power + Uncore power. Formula for computing is largely known, specific tuning parameters (likely part of microcode data segment delivered only via encrypted payload) are not. Regardless, reduction of both through both programmatical differences (i.e. increasingly negative Adaptive voltage offsets) and "behavioral" changes (i.e. leave enabled dynamic Uncore P-state tuning) are equally critical in achieving maximum performance in conjunction with use of this latest driver.

May I request compile for 406F1?

Ah I see. I will try to flash it using your recommended tool then.
Will report back. Thanks

I tried to remove the broadwell ucode from by bios (Asus Z10PE-D8-WS) but seems that MMTool.exe isn't able to do that. I saw a warning in the beginning when UBU loaded mentioning that it might not be able to remove. Does anyone know a fix? Or will I have to remove the ucode manually?

UBU Warning:
This BIOS on Aptio 5 platform, known issues:
- It is not supported by the update files in the GUID A0327FE0-1FDA-4E5B-905D-B510C45A61D0
- There may be problems with updating the CPU microcode

First of all thank you for your great work
Have you any progress about your efi driver to test with V4 Xeon?
Thank you

Is it mandatory to delete from bios V4 Microcode?
I am trying to use your DXE Driver in a Hackintosh build
Is it possible to mod this bios if it is necessary to test this driver with a V4 Xeon?
R5E10.CAP.zip

Thank you

Cool that you have got the development so far. I've been running E5-2696v3 -50mV with no microcode for about 2 months. Best performance I've achieved under load is around x31 for the multiplier. I believe there is more potential in this chip. Can i still request a compiled build for Asus R5E board?

OK, I have not read all of this thread, but does this bios allow my X99 Taichi to change the multiplier on an E5-2695v3 ES chip ? If not, what can I do with that bios to speed it up ?

Hi Markfw
I have read all this thread and in your case a modded bios used togheter an efi like user posted here , in this condition you can achieve a max turbo boost for all your coreie a 2696 V3 xeon has a turbo boost of x28 multiplier for all 36 cores/threads
it has also a x36 turbo for 1 cores
modded bios and efi should be able to allows to 2696 V3 cpu to have a turbo for all core Greater than x28...someone has achieved x31 or more...
best regards

You like this? Lighter loading (say, BF4 using a max of 6-8 cores) runs at 3.8GHz on all cores... it is somewhat workload dependent as you are limited by your TDP (power budget).

I like it..and I would like to achieve it with mine V4..I see also you have microcode , so it is not mandatory to delete it from bios...
for now I have a problem to try your efi because my "disabled" secure boot does not allow me to start with an usb pen
