Maybe it is not possible to unlock..but I am also trying to understand

No you can't it is for Hackintosh
It is different thing of efi you can find here

Do not get too excited. Your cpu vid slightly higher than average, thats mean if mod works your core clock will still be relatively low.

Thats all about the price. Since this topic started V3 prices have risen.
There are a limited number of 2696v3 in the world and almost all gone and market prices doubled.
Second-hand 2696v4 still expensive than 7980X, there is no sense of buying or modding at these prices.

I have had a 2696 V3 previously payed about 1100€ on ebay
In OC test I see here on 2696 V3 i do not see better result than my actual 2696 V4 (not possible for now to improve other than a safe 103 BCLK OC but Always faster than a OC 2696 V3)
IMHO if it would be possible to OC V4 xeon like it is possible on V3..it could be best choice for some type of task for one year or two..

With V3 exploit you have a pretty similar cpu than mine..maybe a little worst in performance...and now your 800 $ investment is three times better or more!

For a Single CPU , may be not. I have a dual E5-2696V3. All the 36 cores running at 3.3GHz now..
I like ECC memory, one more reason for Xeons.

Please do not buy ES (Engineering sample) Xeons. They are cheap for a reason.
