What cooling would I need?

I have an AMD K6-2 400MHz and I'm curious what cooling devices would I need, especially if I wish to overclock it?

K6-2 processors don't overclock very well.
One of my coworkers tried to oc his K6-2-400 to 450MHz... result: dead cpu.

my suggestion is get a new computer. or at least a k6-2+ there are a few reviews of them, i think there's on on www.tomshardware.com had a review of overclocking it. but if ur gonna try on the k6-2 u have now, get the biggest heatsink you can, probably an Alpha, because those suckers get hot!

I had a K6-2 266 up to 350MHz relativly stable. I was also using a home made water cooling setup. The reason it wasn't 100% stable was becuz to get it to run at 350MHz I had to run some ice water through the system for a while and had to keep adding ice to keep it at that kool temp. But when the ice melted the temp raised and the CPU became unstable. So I clocked down to 300MHz and stuck w/ that. Coulda went 333MHz if the rest of my system coulda handled it. But water cooling is a great way to get some extra MHz from your CPU. Maybe some of the new HSFs are getting better too???

A GlobalWin FDP32 or the Golden Orb should work. If your processor is made within the last year, you may have a chance to take it up to 500MHz. But if it was one of those first K6-2 400 that came out in late 98/early 99 then you should forget about getting a better heatsink and overclocking it.

Also a bit more info, my last K6-2 450 made it to 560MHz (5x112) @ 2.6V on a FIC VA-503+
