Yup. Enjoy your epididymectomy. Epididymitis is a somewhat common complication of vasectomies, though that's not the only cause. I'm not a doctor, but I had this problem and had to have surgery. In the case of epididymitis there's usually very noticable swelling of the epididymis.

Antibiotics only help if it's bacterial. Congestive epididymitus isn't and I don't believe "althetic sipp otters" help with that type. But hopefully it's gone or bacterial and easily treatable.

I imagine the OP would know if he has a vasectomy, though.

Just wanted the OP to be aware of the possibilities. I had a GP that went with antibiotics first and then when that didn't resolve it I had to get an ultrasound. Then after he apparently didn't see anything in the ultrasound (or didn't really look at it) he told me I had chronic epididymitus after it had only been occuring 2-3 weeks. Which is basically the "screw you, live with it" answer. So I ended up going back to my urologist and getting a good diagnosis and got the problem fixed.

I'll be going to a different GP from now on.
