What CPU do you use for your primary gaming PC?

It looks like 2016 will be a big year for computer parts in general, so I'll be headed for a top to bottom rebuild later this year I think. Let's see how AMD's Zen processors work out.

6700k@4.7Ghz. It will do at least 4.9ghz (and I think 5Ghz), but it does 4.7 without touching the voltage much, so that's where it stays.

i7 6700. Would have preferred the 6700k even though I'm not much of an overclocker, but at the time I built the system the availability of the K was very spotty and the few that were around were priced about $200 equivalent over the plain 6700. If I was spending that level of money I'd have gone for the 5820k without hesitation, as it is the 6700 is certainly no slouch at 3.7ghz/4 cores. I fully expect the CPU to last just fine for gaming as long as the current generation of consoles are around (although you could say the same for the 2600k)

I'm sure a time will come when a 6700K OC pulls ahead significantly in games, by then I expect I'll have moved onto something else, likely HEDT or maybe even Zen depending on how things turn out.

Core i5 750, stock 2.66 GHz (built it in 2009/2010). It ain't very good compared to the new stuff but with my Radeon 7870 I can run new games at 1920x1080 with medium graphics and get good framerates.

Looking to upgrade to an i5 6600K or i7 6700K very soon. I think I'll wait until I get my tax return back though.
