i5 3570K @ 4.0GHz, heavily undervolted.
I'm more of a casual gamer these days, playing Steam games and older titles that my wife and I enjoy together (e.g. Civ 5). I do very occasionally pick up a AAA title, but for the foreseeable future I don't have a reliable internet connection, which rules out online gaming, and as such, the i5 is far more CPU horsepower than I need.
Do you know your power draw at full throttle at your current settings? Just curious.
Yeah,
At 4.0GHz, -130mv, I idle at ~37.4w, load at ~81.8w Prime95 (at the wall, full-system), giving a difference of 44.4w between idle and AVX load.
In Civ5, I was seeing about 178w at the wall. I haven't played with undervolting my video card.
Phenom II 965 BE in the desktop, i5 4460 in the Steam Box.
