Ah, the good old days of computer nostalgia . I'll start...In 2000 our family got a brand new Dell Dimension 4100 and it packed quite a punch for its day.

1 GHz Pentium III Coppermine
512mb 133 MHz SDRAM
60GB, 7200RPM HDD (Maxtor, but it still runs like new)
32MB nVidia TNT2 AGP
CD-RW drive

So, what were you guys running on right at the turn of the millenium?

Man, hard to remember late '99 for system, but iirc- K6-2 500@570mhz (golden orb cooler) on Epox MVP3?- 192mb PC100? SDRAM- 8gb Maxtor UDMA 33- 8mb ATI@play PCI vid card- win98 S.E. I do remember my bud set me up with a Duron 700 and KT7 shortly after they were available, and the performance jump from my last setup was huge after overclocking to 950mhz and upgrading vid card and HDD to ATA66.

I had a Dell... I think it had
P3 500
128mb memory
6x CD-RW
Voodoo3 3000

Not sure how big the hard drive was. Played Starcraft, Diablo 2 and Half-Life/CS nicely

I had a dell in the mid 90's right up to 2001 when it died:
xps3200 it was called
200mhz pentium
128 RAM
2x2gb hd
voodoo3 3000 pci gfx
Kick ass pc untill half life came out. It couldn't run it for it's life (no pun intended as it dies shortly upon the release)

A 1.1GHz T-Bird on some Asus mobo with like 512MB RAM and ... dont remember the rest.
Before that, it was a dual P2-400, also on some whacky asus mobo. Was a cheapo deal for the dualie mobo and 2 processors and I was curious about SMP. Not much later, I bought the same mobo with a single socket and ran 2 seperate rigs instead.

I had a borrowed K62-350 running on some crappy VIA board. I alternated between an ATI Rage Fury II (32 meg) and a Voodoo3 as I recall.

The rest of the system was something like . . . 128 megs of RAM plus my old Adaptec AHA-2940UW with a 4-gig WD UWSCSI HDD, my trusty Toshiba 12x SCSI CD-Rom, a spare 2-gig IDE drive, an Ensoniq AudioPCI, and uh . . . probably my Diamond IDE 33.6 modem.

I kicked that to the curb in Jan. of 2001 for my 1.4 ghz T-bird.

And its all still kicking except the dvd drive that crapped out last year.

I think I was still using my AMD K6 II 550mhz (ran hot as hell), 32mb Palit Geforce2 MX and Gigabyte GA5AA (ALI Aladdin V). When the AMD Duron 750Mhz was released I quickly upgraded my motherboard and the speed increase was HUGE!

I've been using AMD processors since I upgraded from a intel 386 dx 40mhz to intel 486 dx4 100mhz to intel pentium 75mhz and then to the fancy AMD K6 200mhz.

Enlight case w/stock 340 watt power supply

Was a nice rig in its day...
