What credit card do you guys like?

i'm a points/miles whore now.
before i used to love american express blue cash- no annual fees and you get 1 - 5% cash back on your purchases. but now i use the following

chase sapphire preferred visa - no international fees, can transfer points to many different airline / hotel programs. Customer service is top notch, call the 1800 number and you get a live person, RIGHT AWAY! $95 a year

american express starwood preferred guest - best hotel credit card and hotel rewards program in my opinion. no blackout dates or anything and the points in my opinion give you the most bang for the buck. I got 7 nights in maui from one year of using this card. $50 a year

Chase Freedom is still kind of my mainstay, although I'm thinking I may open another high rewards card soon just to complement it.

we don't do the whole rewards/points thing here in Denmark, creditcards are just convinient way to pay... I have a visa / dankort and that's all I need.

very common mistake, check/debit card are a big risk, a fraud would drain YOUR money, takes a while to get back. With CC, its NOT YOUR money, any fraudulent transaction simply has to be disputed. Don't put your own money at risk.

Certainly one should not spend money one doesn't have. However if one has the money then using a rewards card can net even more money.

Go for a secure CC and build your credit, unless you have overly irresponsible with your money...

I want to go for a no fee card. I have a chase freedom and it's been great. Had a chase southwest premier card and it was $100 a year and I just didnt think it was worth it all. So I transferred the available credit over to the freedom and closed the SW card.

I like rewards cards, but dont really fly so flyer miles arent important. I want another CC (now) for a few reasons: 1)to help build my credit, 2)in case I need money for school in the upcoming years and cant get a loan, and 3)it may be hard to get a cc later when i have school loans to pay, as opposed to now when my credit is decent.

I'm using the Penfed Platinum rewards card right now. 5% on gas, 3% on groceries, 1% on everything else. I spend most of my money on gas/groceries, so it works out well.

It could only get the money in my checking acct. Not enough to worry about, I never keep much in there unless I'm planning a large transaction that day.

It has a massive $300 limit, I'm not complaining seeing how I have no credit history. But I think in the past having a "platinum" card usually meant you had great credit and the card would have an uber high limit.

I put about 80% of my expenses through Amex Premier Rewards Gold. Free money!
For credit card, I like Chase Freedom or Chase SW Air although they dont get much use.

Gold and platinum don't mean much anymore. The big perk that used to come w/ gold/platinum cards was rental car damage coverage. Now you have to ask if the specific card you're applying for provides this coverage and ask for the policy flyer to read the fine print (like that pickups usually aren't covered).

I use three mainly. First are Chase Freedom and Discover More. These are used for their 5% categories and their online "malls".(Hidden gems, just go to their online malls and it hotlinks you to the retailer. In exchange you get 5%-20% cash back, I've saved tons of money through them. Even Apple at times has 10% cash back.) The third is American Express Blue Cash Prefered. It's used for gas at 3% and groceries at 6% back. Electronics go on Amex due to doubled warranty and theft/breakage replacement.
