1070 for 1080p and haven't regretted it one bit. It's is consistently above 80fps for even the more demanding games and most of the time even above 100fps. I am happy with 60fps, but I mention the high fps to show its power. The card doesn't even break a sweat for the 60fps vsynced gaming I do and the fan is whisper quiet.

That, coupled with my aging 2500k. I have done extensive testing on my 860@4Ghz too and it also did really good, even beating my 2500k@4.8Ghz in a couple of games (out of 60 however).

Great card with great drivers that help weaker cpus.

I wish I could afford an AMD card of the same caliber, so I could test where AMD's drivers stand today with weaker cpus, because my 7950 and 5850 are too weak and gpu limited for any valuable measurement. Heck the 5850 doesn't even have current drivers (thank you AMD).

psolord,
A question
Why do you game with and without Vsync ? Is Vsync not usefull all the time when your fps > refresh rate ?

Question not directed at me, but vsync introduces input lag, especially when fps > refresh rate (without vsync your input lag goes down as framerate goes up).

More on topic, I am using a GTX 1080 that I bought after the 1080 Ti was released and GTX 1080 prices dropped and I sold my HD 7970 for $175 on EBay to miners.

Still using good old 290 PCS+, was waiting for Vega but looks like I will just sit it out until Volta now. I have a 1070 in a laptop now though.

I got the Saphire 570 for $185 right before the mining craze hit again. Great card, quiet and cool, can't complain.

Have GTX 1080 Ti in the system I usually use for gaming. Planning to upgrade to a 4K120 monitor or better once it becomes available, at which point I will either SLI my other 1080 Ti or go RX Vega Crossfire (if it's competitive).

Previously had Fury Nitro which was a great card. But I sold it for a princely sum thanks to the recent scarcity of GPUs.

I benchmark without vsync but I play with vsync. Both benchmarking and gaming, hold equal amounts of fun for me.

Personally I prefer vsync for smoothness and power draw / heat control, not that my HAF932 is having any trouble, but still....! However, If a game is manifesting any framerate dips/frametime spikes due to the vsync (mostly caused by my cpu, but thankfully scarcely), then I disable vsync and use MSI Afterburner's framerate limiter or adaptive vsync, whichever works best.

I prefer my frametimes to be as close as possible with each other and 16,66ms is good enough for me and for the 1070.

I don't want Volta, but I'm considering paying the $1000+ gsync tax for a 4k monitor if it's announced soon.

Currently r9 290 and 4k freesync monitor.

None of the above for me. 980Ti pushing 1440p. Plan on staying there until Volta

GTX 1070. Best card that I've had since RivaTNT 2 Pro. Cool, super quiet and fast. Overclocks nicely without extra voltage.

GTX 1070 (in sig). Great card, picked it up just before prices really started to go insane.

None at all. Sold my GTX 1070 and 1440p G-Sync monitor a month ago. Sold my 4790k rig a couple days ago. Not replacing rig anytime soon....Going to try that thing they call the great outdoors and see if it ives up to the hype.

1080 Ti FE and a 3440 x 1440 60hz monitor.

It isn't l33t but I think I like the ultrawide better than ye olde Dell 3007 it replaced.

None on the list. Still using a R9 Fury on my home computer. I use a RX 480 on my work computer though.

Swapped my pair of XFX R9 390 DDs to a pair of Zotac 1080 AMPs for free (thanks miners!).
Split the pair of 1080s as they were waaaaaay too overkill for 3x 1920x1200 @ 60Hz gaming

GTX 950. Was planning on grabbing a RX 570, but then the mining bubble happened. I have a 4k Freesync monitor, but only plan on playing at 1080p, I just needed higher PPI for work.

Rocking a RX 580 8GB, managed to get it before the mining craze occured. Now they're practically nowhere to be found.

I count one "generation" from each camp in the options listed.

This subject could be interesting if the options were actually different generations...

That's a very good idea, but the OP was clear in his "current" naming of the thread. Do start a new thread to take our minds off the Vega fights.
