What degree should I get?

I am starting my Associates at a local community college with the plan of continuing and completing my BA at another school.

I am interested in #1 database, #2 web design, and #3 a little networking (all of these needed for my job).

What degree should I pursue that would make be well rounded in those three areas?

My community college gives me the option of a AS in:

Computer Science
Computer Information Tech
Computer Network Tech
Computer Service Technology
Computer Web Technology

What do those who have their computer related BA's think?

If he's just starting school now, he'd have 4 years before he graduates... I think things will be a little better by then. Out of the options you listed, I'd go with Computer Science or Computer Information Technology. I think they'd help you most when you go on to a 4-year school. Web design classes won't help you with anything really. Your best bet is to pick the 4 year school you want, pick the 4-year DEGREE you want, and then base your community college program on which classes would help you the most with that. And get those stinking Gen Eds out of the way.

Just wondering. My college offered a B.A. or a B.S. in Computer Science. The B.A. required a foreign language, while a B.S. required you to take more computer science-related classes. Believe it or not, some people actually went for the B.A.

For an Associates, get whatever interests you. I picked Unix/Cisco. Honestly if you show competence in any of those it should help your credibility.

At any credible school, out of your list, you would only be able to get a BS in Computer Science. MIS is also an option.
