What did I do???

Just received an AXIA 1.2 Ghz 266 along with a Vantec CCK-6035D. My old Cpu was a 1Ghz Athalon with some Generic (bigger then stock) heatsink. It used to run around 48-49c at idle and around 55 or so under load (not great but not too too bad)
NOw with the new CPU and the HS fan, I am at 60c at idle. This is my first HS fan install. I used asII.
Had trouble hooking the clip to the board and the HS def slid around a bit. Could that be the big problem here? Case temp is around 39c.
How the heck do I install it without moving it around?

Well, here is a reply from myself. I checked the archives and found I may have installed it 180 the wrong way, so I flipped it around and what do u know? It is now around the 48C mark a few mn after boot. I still think it should be a bit cooler tho. Is my case holding me back with the 39-40 case temp?

muhahahahahahahhaahahahah the infamous crappy hsf!!! just kidding, so far i tried a gladiator+stock fan, that=Crapol
Now i'm going to try the Taisol76 ( i think ), and see what it does, but for now my Lasko house fan seems to be doing the trick
for now, i have it one foot away from the CPU and it cools it great, i got a 10-12o C drop in temp, i have a 1.4Ghz and without the
Lasko i go to 50c idle 55+load ( always crashes after 50o), but with trustly 'ole Lasko i get 36-38o C idle, 39-44o C Load.
It doesn't crash like it used to, but it still crashes on me frequently, i had to declock the CPU when i got it just so i could play my games and stuff. but right now its not too bad, i think i'm going to skip out on AMD next time and go with a P4 or P5 by the time comes around.
We shouldn't have to go beyond extreme measures of cooling to run our PCs at the regular clock speed!!! AMD- You Suck, get on the ball! jeez
