So I guess ever since I got my license I could drive this car around? However it's a van, so I didn't actually drive it till almost a year after I got license, and I didn't enjoy driving it and I counted on rides unless Ic ould drive the sedan, so it took at least 2 - 3 months until I got used to driving the van, and I decided to drive it around frequently...

Anyways, it's a POS 1992 Toyota Previa. Yay minivan drivers represent! Holla!

Same here I love my minivan, with a futon matress where the back seats used to be, sound system + rope lights + minifridge = ftw

Someones rolling...

1992 Buick Park Avenue. Huge ass back seat, but alas, not used for fun purposes

Still driving it now, over 180K miles. All that's really needed work is the brakes.

first car - '84 BMW 325e, because I wanted to be different. Only $1500. Was great...when it was running.

Second - '89 Toyota Celica ST. It was a friends' car, we traded. The car was tough, and I kicked the crap out of it. This, above all else, is what sold me on Toyota reliability. Finally sold it at 240,000 miles, after a lifetime of abuse from multiple generations of college students and harsh Midwest winters. It was rusted through all over the place, and had a whole host of other problems, but was still running.

The Celica really was impressive. Great mileage, fairly fun to drive (more so than a Corolla, at least, with about the same mileage), surprising amount of room for hauling stuff (but not much legroom in the back), and reliable beyond anything I've seen. Tons of road trips in that car.

First car was a 1980 Vette. Chevette that is

Bought it for $800 which I had saved from my paper route and working part time as a dishwasher at a restaurant. Loved that thing. I put a kickin stereo system which was worth about $1200 total. I worked my ass off to get that stuff, but I SHOULD have been paying attention in school and getting better grades...

my parents bought me an 02 corolla (back in Sept 01). Before the actual year 2002, they completely redid the body style.

First car was a 1969 MG Midget Mk III.

First car (that I spent more time driving than fixing) was a ten year old Honda Civic with over 130k miles. Cheap transportation that worked. I drove it for eight years and another 100k miles.

(Edited to fix overzealousness when typing roman numerals.)

When I was 16 I worked all summer to buy my first car which was a Candyapple Red 1966 Mustang Coupe. That was 27 years ago. I am damn glad that car is long gone but I have always had at least one 66 Mustang since.

Got a 94 Geo Prizm in '96 after it was returned from a 2 year lease. $8960 I think I paid, roughly $2000 down and $180 a month (my parents paid of that $60/mth + insurance and also made use of this car). Sold it in Sept 2001 to a chinaman for I think $3100. I'll be moving back to America next month and will need to buy another car.

I bought a 1990 Mazda 626 for $2000 5 years ago. It's still running well after very little maintenance.

Where do you suggest I go to look for cheap cars, and what models do you recommend? I have heard of car fax too. How much does it cost, and how does it work?
Thanks!

My first car was a 1970 Ford XW Falcon GT sedan (number 671), I got it when I was 15 and spent the next 2 years restoring it with my father.
We altered it slighty from factory specifactions (300hp, 3.00:1 diff) to the Bathurst spec GTHO Phase 2 specs (350+hp HO engine, 3.5:1 detriot locker)which gave it a pretty big kick up the ass as far as performance goes (standard 15.5 1/4mile 215km/h top end, Phase 2 14.4 1/4mile 240+km/h top end)

It was a very scary car to drive even with 10in rubber on the rear end, a slight slip of the clutch would see it fish tailing every where.
It wasn't much of an around town car, it required to much clutch work to be a comfortable drive, but find a nice straight peice of raod and it was breath taking.

I really wish my parents hadn't sold it on me...but the were thinking of public saftey when they did so
