What did you think of Trumps speech?

A lot of people thought it was dark. I honestly think he is sincere about bringing the country together. I guess time will tell.

When I dispassionately analyze it, it sounds like an attempt of unification based on patriotism verging on nationalism. No substance to speak of, but it is informative in a meta sense as it gives a view as to how he might spin things in the future. Patriotism, like sex, sells.

Why don't we take that time and you rationally explain to me, in specific apolitical language, what merit you saw that explains why you think he is a superior President? I don't mean what you find objectionable in others, but concrete examples of what Trump is definitely doing that you find favorable.

I liked the speech, it was short and to the point and pointed that finger of blame at both political parties and the Washington elite. They've gotten rich and cozy on the sweat, blood and tears of everyday Americans. I'm hoping to see some drastic changes, but he's got a tough fight ahead of him since most of the media, Democrats and establishment Republicans oppose him. We'll all have a good idea after his first 100 days just how effective he's going to be.

What a grim affair. Trump talking about what a piece of shit America is and how he's going to salvage it. I figured as a showman he'd at least make a half watchable inauguration. And then we got a bunch of religious stuff so all the evangelicals who voted for the least Christ-like president we've ever seen can pat themselves on the back about how godly he is. Specifically because he did not speak of a positive America, what it looks like with his leadership when he has accomplished his goals.
Most positive line was patriots have no room for prejudice. But that was under an odd nationalist / fascist tone.
