Mom got a Cannon G3 for her birthday, great camera. I try and borrow it every chance I get.

4mp, 3x optical zoom with Minolta GT lense, first auto tracking focus,

Pretty compact but not super compact.

Only down side is the slow shoot to shoot time. Not that 98% of the other cameras don't have this also!

F717 and above to DSLR are about the only ones with 1s shoot to shoo times or better.

Still have a trusty old canon s100 from back in the day when they were 400+. I thought it was a steal when I PM an OD mistake at 199...plus I "found" an extra $40 battery and charger a year later. Still works well, even after I've dropped it several times.

My new Canon A70 is sitting under the Christmas tree and taunting me.

Until I get my mitts on it my options are an I/O Magic POS or borrowing a family member's Minolta DiMAGE 3MB camera, which is a decent enough camera but it's not actually mine and I worry about breaking it whenever I use it.

All I can say is expect mad pics from me after Christmas as I have already ordered a MAHA C-204F battery charger and 8 top-of-the-line 2200mAH batteries.
