I'm canadian and on the news here they're showing that americans aren't too happy with canadians and are hurting our business. They had some examples of a woman operating a business here and 80% of her customers are american. American customers started cancelling their orders because they found out her internet business was in Canada.

Also, another lady wanted to buy something she saw in a magazine so she called up the american company and they said they wouldn't sell to canadians because they didn't support the americans in the war.

Do the majority of americans hate Canada right now because our government decided to back down from the war?

I don't think it's fair for people to intentionally hurt others because they come from a certain country.

What are your thoughts?

Kid, this is nothing new. During the Viet Nam "war" Canada was on the outs with the U.S. and a lot of people were upset over it. This will all blow over in time as well.

Canada is like America's little pet. When they start to get angry or fiesty we just give them a mean look and they revert back to pet mode.

Do all you Americans really believe all this crap that comes out of your mouth? Almost all of you are naive as hell, caught up in everything your single digit IQ'd President has fed you. The Canadian PM and many Canadians viewed this war on Iraq to be unwarranted. I will not take a personal stance on this, whether or not the war is warranted is not the question at hand. Our Prime Minister and his colleagues who we voted into power believed, after hearing the facts straight from the voice of the war (George Bush) that we would not want to support it. Most Canadians with any amount of patriotism will stand behind our Prime Minister completely.

We do not view you, the United States, as our protector. In the last few decades Canada has been sure to always take a very diplomatic approach to all issues when possible. We supported you after September 11th in your hunt for Osama Bin Laden and other members of Al Qaeda who posed a threat to society. We lost four lives in an incident which never should have occurred, and not even an apology was given by your President.

We're admiring your trees and wondering how to get them over here when we're all out of ours.

Well not going to make any friends here by saying our President has a single digit IQ. At least he is not French Golly I hate that word.

We have been frequent visitors to Canada but no more. Your country could have just said that they wanted to remain neutral and above the frey but that did not happen with your NO digit IQ. You have every right to whine but I have every right not to give your business any of my money. Live with it.

Only us Americans are naive, Canadians on the other hand are the most well informed people on the planet!

I think most people are indifferent towards Canada. It's like asking, "What's your opinion of shoelaces or spatulas?"

I guess there is some anti-Canada sentiment. However, I expect most Americans are far more upset with France since they so vehemently opposed us. Personally, I have no problem with a country (or person) being against the war - that is their prerogative. What frustrates me, and many Americans, about France is the fact that they actively recruited (bribed, attempted to bribe) countries on the UNSC to vote against the US resolution (not that we weren't trying to bribe the same countries). Canada's stance seems more passive; they're against the war but not trying to get in our way. Furthermore, Canada doesn't seem to be trying to diminish the power of the US (as France is).

Well written post Qosis, but if you don't consider the US as your protector, why do you value the US as a source of income?
