Anyhow, I buy TP, papertowels, frozen boneless/skinless chicken breats, other meat products, this whole wheet multi grain bread they sell at ours (in DFW) that is just mega good. I also buy the occasional CD, DVD, and book. We bought a Hoover steamvac that was $75 cheaper than any other vendor. My woman constantly buys those big bags (2lb?) of M&Ms for her office candy jar.
Bought some tires there and plan on buying a few more there as well, not to mention the nice gas prices. However the location makes it non-convinient to get gas at.

Vitamins, Nyquil, and stuff like that... frozen chicken, razor blades, shampoo and conditioner... oh, and yogurt.

I've always shared my membership with someone else. Two cards for free.

The paer towel trail leads here too. They give you such a great deal on this item alone, that its worth the membership. Also their Kirkland water is something like 4.50 for 35 bottles. Sweet . TP is the bomb too.

My cheap assed boss likes to go there with me and buy the whole beef side for about 100.00. He convinced me to get one of the food sealers and buy meat in bulk. He gets something like 25 ribeye steaks out of the side of beef (maybe I'm exaggerating, I dont know) Tires are decently priced too.

Dont forget the diapers(so-so deal) and the Kirkland baby wipes(super cheap too)

Peace

Why do you think I didn't renew? I wasn't getting enough out of it. Sure you can buy in bulk but perishable items will stale pretty quickly and suddenly you've wasted money. Frozen foods get freezerburned after a while...things such as tp, papertowels, well the grocery stores now carry them in big packages also. They do have nice gift items and clothes there, but am I going to pay $50 to them just so that I can shop?

What I also don't like about Costco; each time you go there the layout has changed and you waste your time wandering around the store. Or they stop carrying an item. It's like Winners, things are always changing.

not the three i go to. they all have the same layout and keep the same stuff in stock. we have been members for 5 years now. Sure the grocery stores sell bulk paper stuff but its higher. i just check last week and the same big pack of paper towles were almost 3 bucks higher at the grocery store.

You just werent buying the right things and storing it properly. I can buy a pack of beef and be set for atleast a month.. I may spend $200 on a trip to costco but i only make the trip once a month. The fruit and vegetables tend to last long if stored properly. Its very rare that I have stuff go stale or get freezerburned.

Last time I was in Sobeys or Dominion I dont recall them selling a 12 pck of paper towels BRAWNY for $15, or TP.. the kirkland TP is actually quite a very good brand.. soft AND quilted and lots on a roll. I will never go back to that cottonelle or charmin crap.

Edit: The Costco I go to the layout stays the same.

How can you share a membership with 2 other people, don't they check the picture? My friend tried to use her dad's card, and they wouldn't let her.

I'm going to get a membership soon, they rotate your tires for free.
10 pounds of Tyson chicken wings for ~$10 is a pretty good deal
Every so often they have a deal on a queen-sized matress+box-spring for $389
Most of the bigger items will darn near pay for your membership in one trip.

When you get your membership they offer supplemental cards for other ppl supposedly as long as they live in your household.

well the basic membership has a "spouse or domestic partner" option.. its a free card.

Vanny and I have our own costco cards. She signed on with me. That way she can get her stuff and i can get mine. I signed her on as a spouse/domestic partner. Supposedly its supposed to be living under one roof. I just signed us under my parents addy. She shops at Goleta, I shop at Sacramento.

Usually my buying is limited to: DVD's, food, maybe electronics if I see something useful.
Her buying so far from what i know has to do with water, food, essentials etc etc.

Needless to say getting the 45 buck costco membership wasnt too bad, its only for a year but knowing me i will use it enough times to pay for it.

My only rant with costco is that anything you want to buy is atleast 7-8 bucks.. and it adds up really fast. You got to know what the same stuff costs at teh local supermarket to figure out your getting a deal and how much of a deal.

Diapers, gas, milk, meat, toilet paper, paper towels, other non-produce foods, cleaning supplies - the gas savings more than pay for the membership, the rest is gravy.
