What do you clean your screen with?

I mean is (desktop) monitor glass like some spiffy multi-coated optical juju glass, or can you just power it with Windex and fish wrap?

I bought some supposed monitor cleaner and frankly, with the pathetic rag supplied, it sucks!

Most manufacturers recommend you only use soap & water.

Windex & amonia based products can actually harm some protective coating used on some monitors,so be carefull & only use soapy water.

use a 100% cotton cloth dampened w/ a hint of H20

I use windex and paper towel. Like I give a rats ars if I harm my cheap ars KDS 21"er.. They don't last forever... They get old, you toss them and get a new one. hehehehe

This one is about 3 years old now. I figure I'll get a new one within 3 years... I doubt a little windex is going to fukit up within that amout of time.

I used the same thing I used on my reading glasses. Lens cleaner from the Optometrists it says on the bottle for TV and computer screens.

i just use a cloth which i use to clean my glasses to wipe off the dust. too lazy to go out and buy those glass cleaners.

I have never needed anythign more than paper towels and water. I wouldnt imagine that windex would do much to the glass... I havent seen any monitors with a fancy coating (there isnt really a need for a protective coating, imo), Still, i wouldnt use windex and such unless it really wouldnt come clean with water...
Also a razor blade works to take off hardened crud... (but if one's monitor had a coating of some sort on it, this would be a Bad Thing)

Damp paper towel.

Windex takes off the anti glare protective coating on monitors, so if you visually see any degradation or gets watery eyes/headaches, you know who caused it.

just go a pron site...eventually the monitor will saturated with cleanser it will clean itself. :Q

I use Sprayway Glass Cleaner. Contains no amonia. Works great. (Oh and a 100% cotton cloth)

I use a MysticMaid... was recommended in this very forum a few months back. Kinda pricey but it's the best cleaning cloth there is. All you need to do is run it under the tap first.
